Trivia: One of the first scenes to be filmed was where Jackie jumps from the base of the bridge to the hovercraft. Unfortunately, he broke his ankle doing it and ended up in plaster. A sock that looked like a trainer was created to go over the plaster and Jackie filmed the rest of the movie with a broken ankle. If you watch through the titles, you can see him showing off the sock.
Trivia: Ann Morgan Guilbert plays Mama Ragetti, the mother of Maria Sophia Coletta Ragetti (Sophia Loren). In real life, Guilbert is only six years older than Loren.
Trivia: In the scene where the tribe members are doing a rain dance and Jonathan Taylor Thomas is sitting under a tree reading a magazine, there is an ad on the back for the movie 'The Lion King' in which JTT voiced Simba.
Trivia: Check out the Scrabble board after Annie moves back in. Words like "epidural, breech, and mother." All birth-related words. Talk about a theme game.

Trivia: When Thomas Two-Stroke is inspecting the car, he surreptitiously breaks something, then claims he has found the problem and shows them the offending piece of the engine. When the two Englishmen ask what it is, he replies that he doesn't know what it is in English, but gives them the supposed name in Welsh. Translated literally, it means "what's it called" - basically, a thingamijig.
Trivia: This was John Candy's last film released after his death. Candy died during filming of "Wagons East" but had already finished filming "Canadian Bacon." "Canadian Bacon" sat on the shelf for two years while Michael Moore struggled to get the film distributed once production wrapped up.
Trivia: Forest Whitaker plays Cyrus Cole, father of Thomas "Rashid" Cole (Harold Perrineau). In real life, Whitaker is only two years older than Perrineau.
