Other mistake: Leatherface attacks the Mercedes. The pick up is driving backwards, the Mercedes forwards. The Mercedes should easily be able to outpace the pickup.
Other mistake: The credits for the movie say that they are in alphabetical order, but Peter Cullen is listed before Scatman Crothers.
Other mistake: After finding that he has run over a dummy and not a live person, the officer doesn't resume the car chase even though Roland's panel truck is shown driving only about one block ahead of him with no traffic in between. For those of you who don't know, panel trucks have the get-up-and-go of an arthritic turtle. (01:21:00)
Other mistake: There is a scene at the beginning of the movie where the two main male leads are walking near a frat house having a party. The shot with the error starts on a frat banner and then pans down and across to the female lead (Jill Whitlow) and stops with her in the center of the screen. At this point, her legs are transparent.
Other mistake: In the scene where Terry is at the computer, and Jim Belushi's character surprises her while pretending to be a Sperry repairman, they keep turning the monitor on and off. But the last time you hear a beep, which is supposed to be Terry turning off the monitor, her hand is nowhere near where the button would be. They obviously added the sound effect later.
Other mistake: In the scene when the Kurgan breaks into the tower house looking for Connor, he breaks down the front door. As the door fragments, we can see it is not made of wood but polystyrene.
Other mistake: The computer 'keyboard' in the control room is in fact a Commodore 64 Home Computer.
Other mistake: In the scene where Howard falls asleep in Beverly's apartment window and his wallet falls out, she takes out the money. The city on the bill says Washington DC instead of Marshington DC. (00:19:00)
Other mistake: One of the taglines for this film was "Meet Jim Ferguson. He lived a daring double-life with one foot in the 20th century and the other in World War I." World War One was fought in the 20th century.
Other mistake: As Packard backs out of the cemetery there's no damage to his car, despite crashing through an iron fence and headstones.
Other mistake: Hendershott fires the L.A.W., then gets killed. Nobody reloads it, but Wanda fires it at the beer truck as she dies.
Other mistake: When the family is leaving and the door is shut you see the floor lock (common in older homes) on the door engage. When Brad goes back in through the window you see him run down the stairs. He gets to the door and unlocks 2 locks on the upper part of the door but not the floor lock.
Other mistake: After Jack climbs up the ladder and through the floor he then runs right to the locked door, all this takes about ten seconds. Somehow in those few seconds Wang, Gracie, and the rest of the girls have all made it up the same ladder and coming around the corner when he gives him the signal to come to the door when there's no way they couldn't have all done it that quickly.
Other mistake: When Eugene discovers that it really is Blind Dog Fulton, he (Fulton) says that he needs to get out to help Eugene find that lost song. Eugene says that he will be here at "5:00 a.m." When they breakout - which took all of about maybe 10 minutes, it's very light for the morning time. Looks to be maybe 6:30 by daylight savings time.
Suggested correction: Aside from the fact that daylight continuity is seldom strictly observed in any film, you should be aware that dawn on the East Coast visibly begins breaking over the Atlantic at around 4:30 to 5:00 AM during Daylight Savings Time. The sun may not have cleared the horizon, but the sky is really quite bright in New York City (and the whole East Coast) by 5:00 AM.
The time of sunrise varies and, although it isn't pointed out what month they left the nursing home, it is suggested that it was during the academic year - not a summer month when sunrise would be within the earliest time frame. Astronomical, nautical and civil twilight (all 6° or more below the horizon) do not radiate the amount of light shown in the movie. Moreover, it did not appear to get lighter out as they traveled, suggesting they departed after daylight, which would be well after 5 AM.
Other mistake: When Eddie sees himself reflected in the ball, his reflection is not reversed. (01:46:30)

Other mistake: During the fight on the dam between von Ragnar and Lance, the protective cover of von Ragnar's deadly middle finger nail is never seen until the closeup shot of von Ragnar removing it.
Other mistake: In the shot with the Stillwaters' car pulling in front of their new home in Seattle, on top of the luggage rack you can spot a little red item that falls off as the car stops. Coincidence or not, a minute later Jason opens the U-haul cart and grabs a box with a red cup on top. Other mistake: The end credits are plagued by the biggest compilation of spelling mistakes you'll ever see. The French cast in particular has 2 out of 2 actors with their names wrong (PallarOy instead of PallarDy, a female, Danièle, turned into a male Daniel) and so many errors in the technical cast to make some of them impossible to identify.
