Visible crew/equipment: Right at the start of the film as the alien spacecraft is landing on the planet, you can see the scaffolding of the studio at the top of the screen.
Continuity mistake: The rear view mirror on Solo's convertible is there in wide shots, but missing in all the closer shots throughout the Vegas car chase scene. (00:21:00)
Deliberate mistake: When Cletus is driving the Trans Am as the bandit, it shows him driving to the left and waving at a group of girls. The close up of him driving must be reversed because it looks like the Trans Am is now a right-hand drive. (00:26:45)
Visible crew/equipment: As the priest is loading his luggage in the car, a large light is reflected in the quarter panel. It is not the sun, as that is ahead to our right while the light is behind us to the left. (00:51:20)
Visible crew/equipment: In one of the first scenes, two plain-clothes cops are chasing a suspect. The suspect runs through a house and down some stairs. Look under the stairs. You can see a person trying to hide in the dark under the stairs, presumably a stage hand.
Factual error: Part of the movie takes place in Vienna, Austria. Although the number plates of the cars are like those in Austria at that time, neither the road markings nor the street car which can be seen when both Steve Martin and Kathleen Turner are "climbing" outside their hotel look like those in Vienna.
Factual error: When the Brainstorm project is taken over by the sinister military operative Landan Marks, he begins weaponizing the brain-interface technology and testing it on the human guinea pig Gordon Forbes. As Gordon is subjected to increasingly difficult fighter-jet simulations, Landan Marks gleefully exclaims to military observers, "Now watch this! He can take a full 10-G rollout without losing control, just by thinking about it!" In the flight-simulator cockpit, Gordon grimaces, but the Brainstorm device allows him to remain conscious and maintain control despite his physical distress. But the fact is that no flight simulator in the 1980s or even today would be able to simulate extreme G-forces as described in this film. In fact, flight simulators then and now can't approximate even low G-forces. Only a giant centrifuge can produce such forces; but Gordon is not in a centrifuge for this scene. It's simply a flight simulator.
Continuity mistake: In the airplane, the window shade in the seat next to the main character repeatedly opens and closes between shots.
Continuity mistake: When Meg comes up to Angela, taunting her, Angela's head position and the look on her face changes in each shot.
Other mistake: In the scene where Jesse enters Monica's apartment, he consults her calendar to see in which class she is in school that day. There's nothing unusual about this until you look closely at the calendar and see that time time is early/mid August. Did her school's academic year run differently from other schools' years, or was she taking summer classes? The latter doesn't seem likely.
Continuity mistake: At the wedding ceremony, Prince Colwyn extinguishes his flame inside the basin of water. However in the next shot his baton is aflame again even though he only just put the fire out.
Continuity mistake: When Tony is trying out for the second show, he is shown wearing number 46. There is one shot of him wearing number 40, which was his number for the first tryout.
Continuity mistake: When Braden is confronted by Cho's mother, she throws a blade at him, which he catches and throws back, sticking it in her shoulder. She uses a blowgun and there are two shots of her with the blade in her shoulder and blood on her clothes from the wound. However, when she misses there is a shot of her using a smoke ball where there is nothing in her shoulder, nor is there any blood on her clothes.
Factual error: The caption says "twenty years later" before the main part of the movie starts. Now judging by the dates we've seen on-screen so far that would be in the reign of William and Mary, not Queen Anne.
Continuity mistake: Jenny Seagrove takes Peter Capaldi to see Grey seals only it's clearly stock footage of sealions, totally different animals not found in Scotland.
Visible crew/equipment: In the final fight scene on the cliff when they begin to battle in the air, you can see the wire pulleys on the right corner of the screen. (01:18:20)
Audio problem: When Anschel and Avigdor are arguing, Avigdor says, "Aww, what's the matter with you?" But his lips are saying something different.
Factual error: In the shot of the start of the race at Agua Caliente - some of the horses in the line up are wearing ring head bridles (an Australian stock horse type bridle) - it would be unlikely that these American horses would be racing in such bridles.
Factual error: Alex is racing his bicycle across a bridge over the Detroit River on the way to the stadium. The bridge is the one leading from the Detroit mainland to Belle Isle, an island park, where there is no residential area.
Continuity mistake: Right before Stroker gets into his car to start the race at the beginning of the movie the grandstands behind him are empty, in the next shot as they are coming around to get the green flag they are full.
