Continuity mistake: At the Gator Motel, after Cledus and Bandit get part of the money, when Bandit starts crying about Frog and blows his nose into the money, there is a side shot showing a wad of bills in Bandit's shirt pocket before he actually puts the bills into his pocket in a following shot. (00:12:45)

Continuity mistake: In the scene where they go to Elwood's apartment, Elwood puts on a 78 RPM Decca Louis Jordan record. The record is entitled "Saturday Night Fish Fry". But the song that plays is "Let The Good Times Roll".

Other mistake: Tony Danza inserts the 8-track tape into the player but doesn't push it in far enough to click in and work. He also inserts it with his right hand but then his left after a cut.

Deliberate mistake: At the end fight scene, when they are in the barn one of the men falls crashes through the wall when they get hit, spilling the fight to the outside. Unless the barn's walls were made of cheap plywood, the wall would not have given away so easily. Obviously done for dramatic purposes.

Visible crew/equipment: When one of them is using the bathroom - out of the bathroom window and it sprinkles on his neighbor's flowers, watch when the camera view goes up because you can see someone squeezing a rag onto the porch banister to look like his pee.

Factual error: A film about the making of a film. A car is filmed going off a bridge, and the footage is played back repeatedly. Throughout, the car is referred to as a Duesenberg, even though, in nearly every shot, the Mercedes tri-sected circle logo is visible above the radiator.

Continuity mistake: When Kate ask if Sam Boga is scared to admit he's made a mistake, Sam Boga is carrying his rifle in his hand. When it cuts Sam Boga has his rifle shouldered. (01:24:00)

Other mistake: At the end of basic training, Judy's platoon goes to the bulletin board to see what their M.O.S. will be. This is not how the U.S. Army operates, you must pass a qualification test for the M.O.S. that you enlist for before you ever enlist. You know before you ever get to basic training what M.O.S. you will be training for, not on the last day of basic training.

Factual error: The middle third of the film recounts Dr. Thompson meeting Laszlo at the 1972 Superbowl (VI) in Los Angeles, however, in 1972 the game was played in New Orleans.

Continuity mistake: At the end, the buried biker digs himself out of his grave and shuffles to the smokehouse. When he attacks Farmer Vincent, all the soil and mud stains have vanished from his clothing. Guess he must have stopped off at Zombies-R-Us for some fresh new duds. (01:30:00)

Factual error: It is established early in the movie (Natalie's call) that the money ball event celebration is part of the -first - anniversary of the Valley River Center, the shopping mall where most of the movie is set, with the town of Eugene, Oregon, mentioned explicitly. However, the center opened in 1969, and the movie is set in 1980. The original script was written in 1971, so that line needed an update and slipped by.

Continuity mistake: In the bus scene at the beginning, the little girl with braces (played by a nonspeaking extra) is seen at the front of the bus, on one side of the fight. Then she is seen near the middle of the bus, on the other side of the fight.
