Mulholland Drive picture

Factual error: After the hitman Joe shoots Ed in his office and is placing the gun in Ed's hand, it discharges and shoots a hole in the wall. The appearance of the wallpaper around the hole makes it look more like an exit hole than an entrance hole.

Rosemary's Baby picture

Factual error: Rosemary calls Dr. Hill from a pay phone and says, "The baby's due on Tuesday, you remember you told me June 28th" (and June 28th 1966 does fall on a Tuesday). In the previous scene in Dr. Sapirstein's office his receptionist is making an appointment "next week" for a patient and that date is "July 10th" indicating that if Rosemary is due on June 28th (which she says is next Tuesday) the dates do not match and it must still be the week of June 20th which is at least two weeks before July 10th. The Ring Two picture

Factual error: The Daily Astorian office where Rachel works has the Columbia River in the background, however the real Daily Astorian office is located well off the waterfront. (00:10:15)

The Machinist picture

Factual error: When Trevor is struck by the VW Beetle, not only is he not thrown forward along the Beetle's path, he actually lands well behind the point of impact - more than half the length of the parked van. He doesn't bounce off another object that changes his direction. He's just thrown up, then falls rearward above the car. (01:08:35)

The Last Boy Scout picture

Factual error: The football game at the end of the movie supposedly takes place at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum. However, the overhead shots after Milo is killed show that the endzone says "SAN DIEGO". The end zone paint is red, white, and blue. This footage was obviously shot in San Diego, most likely during the Holiday Bowl college football game, which is held in San Diego in mid-December. (01:36:30)

The Ninth Gate picture

Factual error: In Sintra, when Depp and the girl go to Fargas' house in the morning, they ride the motorbike and turn left. However, from Hotel Central to this house you must turn right, it's the road that climbs to the manors, the other way you'll get to Central Village.

Trauma picture

Factual error: A murder investigation would not be handled by a Detective Constable (he says he's in charge). Detective Chief Inspector is the usual minimum rank for a senior investigating officer, and such a high profile murder investigation is likely to be under a higher ranking senior officer.

The Krone Experiment picture

Factual error: In the scene in which the scientists observe the emergence of the black hole out in the Lechuguilla desert, as it pokes out of the ground unexpectedly near to their base everything in the tent is shown powerfully accelerating roughly horizontally, toward the object as it whizzes skyward. But, given all the data in the movie(mass = 10^9 kg; it reaches max height of about 1,400 meters above the desert floor before coming back down; it emerges not less than 2 meters outside their tent), it ought to impart a gravitational acceleration of not more than 0.0167 m/s^2, which is only less than two thousandths the force provided by Earth. Given that the hole was also traveling away at about 117 m/s, the relative velocity would've been in excess of the hole's escape velocity(only about 0.25 m/s), so there would be no such dramatic effect. (01:04:40)

The Others picture

Factual error: When Grace goes into the children's bedroom to wake them up to introduce them to the new nanny and maid, she takes the only lamp they had with her into the bedroom but light is still reflecting off the nanny and maid as if a lamp was still there. (00:08:20)

Diabolique picture

Factual error: The geography throughout the film is all wrong. The setting is in Pennsylvania, near Pittsburgh. The driving times between there and Williamsport are extremely under-estimated. Most egregious is the river structure. The body is found in the river near Sunbury. Not possible from a site in Western PA. Basically all relationships between actual towns/cities mentioned are totally wrong.

Battle Royale picture

Factual error: KCN does not causes you to internally bleed, so Yuka Nakagawa wouldn't have spat up blood and died like that in the lighthouse, but would have rather died due to cessation of respiration.

Outrageous Fortune picture

Factual error: Shelley Long and Bette Midler track down Michael in Tres Cruces, New Mexico. Yet near the end, when they are catching a ride back to town, a town sign reads "Welcome to Tres Crucas". It's unlikely the town would have misspelled its own name.

Who's Harry Crumb? picture

Factual error: When Harry is standing on the ceiling fan, the young boy pulls the lever backwards to increase the speed. If you read the side of the lever, you can see that the boy is actually pulling the lever to the slow direction. (00:40:30)

Brigadoon picture

Factual error: After Gene Kelly sings "The Heather on the Hill", he sees more heather on the other side of the bridge. He starts across but Cyd Charisse freezes in horror, since to cross the bridge would break the spell over the village of Brigadoon. She then drops some of her heather in the middle of the path and runs back to the village. The camera cuts to Gene Kelly chasing after her, but the heather dropped on the path has disappeared.

Devil picture

Factual error: Detective Bowden's son is ejected from the front of the car and there is a hole in the front windshield. The collision was a straight side-swipe and his momentum should have taken him out the passenger-side window. He would have gone out the windshield if the car had been rear-ended or if they had crashed head-on into something, but the car came to rest in an open field.

Cry_Wolf picture

Factual error: Owen's phone is a Nokia 3300 which is one the phones which are designed to be wider rather than taller (like an N-Gage). Throughout the film when Owen speaks on the phone he holds it the wrong way around. He holds it to his right ear with the rounded edge of the phone pointing upwards to the top of his head. Holding it this way would mean he'd have the microphone to his ear and be speaking into the speaker. I noticed this because I have the same phone, obviously the actor was not sure which end was which and guessed, getting it wrong. I noticed this during the scene where he phones the girl that got stood up at her dance.

Backdraft picture

Factual error: In the beginning when the Mcaffrey brothers' dad is killed, he pushes Scott Glenn (Adcox) into an adjacent room. Then the whole floor explodes - why wasn't Adcox hurt? He should have been blown up with the rest of the floor.

Arlington Road picture

Factual error: The scene where Michael frantically arrives at the FBI headquarters, he drives the Contour up over the movable vehicle barrier. The movable vehicle barriers that are in place at the FBI headquarters, both pre and post 9/11, are steel ramp type barriers angled upward toward the entering car and lowered when needed. The ramps are about as high as the top of the Contour's hood and the Contour would have just gotten wedged under the opening of the barrier ramp. And there wasn't enough of a "ramp" in front of the barrier to floor it and jump the car over the barrier (ala Dukes Of Hazzard), hence the barrier system would really work.
