Factual error: At the end of the film, when Ramu is on the Sally Jesse Raphael show, even if it was being broadcast live in New York, it certainly wouldn't be broadcast live in India for his family to watch. Also, India is 9 1/2 hours ahead of New York. If Ramu's family are watching the show when it's daytime in New York, it's awfully light outside!
Factual error: When animated Giselle begins to sing and brushes her hair, the reflection of her "one true love" is visible in the mirror. Problem is that its image is not reversed in the reflection. (00:02:00)
Factual error: Right after Lance gets hurt and Mox replaces him Mox's first play is a 40 yard pass for a first down after which everyone starts yelling he needs to stop the clock and the camera shows the clock moving. The problem is that in high school football the clock stops on first downs while they reset the chains so the clock should have stopped running until the first down markers were moved and the ref set the ball.
Factual error: The "whaling boat" is too small to function as such. It isn't large enough to hold a fin, let alone disassemble a humpback whale.
Factual error: If the access hatch to the nose wheel well on an airliner was opened at any time during the take off run every alarm panel in the cockpit would light up like a Christmas tree. The pilot would immediately abort take off.
Factual error: In the scene where they are watching "The Drive", the TV is not showing an NFL game at all. The field is 110 yards long. There is an overhead shot of the field and you can see two 50 yard lines and a C in the middle. They are watching a CFL game.
Factual error: The car Flounder drives is a 1964 model, built beginning late in 1963, but the events of the movie take place in 1962. (00:45:40 - 01:08:25)
Factual error: At the end of the film, when Duchovny and Jones are on the ladder truck shooting the head and shoulders, they are yelling "go go go". They slide down the ladder and the next shot is the fire truck speeding away. Movie elapsed time 5 seconds. It is a physical impossibility for a fully extended ladder to be lowered, retracted and bedded in a span of less than 4-7 minutes. Even if the hydraulic lines are cut, the ladder would remain upright and not collapse/retract. (01:32:59)
Factual error: During the scene towards the end of the film where Alejandro is chasing Captain Love in the shack with the furnace at the mine, we see a pressure gauge just before the furnace explodes. The unit of measurement on the pressure gauge is shown as kg/cm2. Metric measures were not used in Mexico until eleven years after the film was set, and as California was a part of Mexico at the time, metric measurements would not have been used there.
Factual error: When Harry and Sally are driving away from the University of Chicago at the start of their road trip there is a long shot of them driving on Lake Shore Drive, but they are heading south towards the city with the lake on their left. If they were leaving the city from UofC, which is in Hyde Park, they would already be driving away from the city on Lake Shore Drive.
Factual error: Hooch is a french mastiff. The dog he gets pregnant is a collie. Different breed dogs do not make purebred puppies. Hooch's pups would be part collie, part mastiff. In the end of the movie, one pup is pure mastiff like hooch and 4 are pure collies like their mother.
Factual error: During "School Challenge" the volume of a sphere is given as Pi R cubed. It should be four thirds Pi R cubed.
Factual error: Toward the end, Einstein holds a Rubik's cube. A corner piece has two orange faces (not possible). It appears again about a minute later.
Factual error: While bidding on eBay for the steering wheel, Vanelope tries to up the $350 bid by bidding $1,000. This scares off the real bidder, but Ralph and Vanelope don't understand how eBay works and bid against each other until they win with a $27,001 bid. That's not how eBay works. Vanelope's initial $1,000 bid wouldn't have set the high mark, but would simply have been her maximum bid in case the other bidder kept increasing his bid. The current high bid would have increased by the increment amount until it reached Vanelope's max bid. Now, it could be that the system recognized Ralph and Vanelope as separate bidders and that's why it let them keep upping the max bid. But, if the system had responded normally and simply increased Vanelope's bid to $355 with a max of $1,000, they might have realised what was going on and not started bidding randomly.
Factual error: The American soldier on the balcony is waving a 50 star flag. (01:30:06)
Factual error: This movie is set in New York. In the beginning of the movie, Ryan (Charlie Sheen) is working as a stock broker and is at work in a high rise office building. Library Tower is clearly visible through the window. This is the tallest building in California. Imagine if the Empire State Building was visible in a movie set in LA. (00:10:50)
Factual error: Deer are not repelled by the smell of human urine, and in fact it does not have "a" smell - it has many. The smell of human urine varies enormously based upon diet, health and environmental factors so that no wild animal could possibly be scared of them all. Even if Lou didn't know this (and everything about her character suggests she should), Doctor Stone would - he is a doctor, after all.
Factual error: When the plane is taking off while the animals are on the runway they duck down hoping it will stop and it becomes airborne shortly before hitting them. In actuality they should have been blown backwards from the jets like ragdolls.
Factual error: The size of the shadow of an object depends upon its distance from the light source, not the surface it falls upon. Lifting the cutout of the bird a few inches closer to the sun as they do would make absolutely no difference to the size of its shadow, yet it quadruples in size.
Factual error: In the chemistry lesson on alcoholic fermentation there is written on the blackboard: H6P5O11 -> cane sugar, which is plain nonsense. (00:34:00)
