Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs
Video

Continuity mistake: From a significantly far distance, Sid is seen rolling one of the dinosaur eggs to the other two and is originally seen on his way to push the egg to left side of the other two, but is instead seen pushing the egg between the other two in the following shot. Also, in the initially mentioned shot, there is no downhill slope to the left of Sid and the eggs. But magically, one appears right next to them two shots later. (00:12:15)

Continuity mistake: In the carnivorous plant scene, Manny grabs the fruit (the bait), which is sitting in the middle of the plant. In the next few shots, the bait disappears and then is replaced with a bulb that housed the red and blue "wires".

Other mistake: When Buck tells about his fight with Rudy, he swings while saying "Back, forth" in front of the others. They are looking the wrong way. He is also swinging on nothing at all.

Continuity mistake: In the beginning, Scrat is sniffing for his acorn and reaches the end of the cliff. Before he reaches the end, look at his saber teeth closely; they've disappeared. When his nose goes over the edge, they reappear.

Continuity mistake: In the end of the plant scene, Buck agrees to help them. He throws his knife into the ground before he explains his rules. When he's telling his rules, the knife is gone. When he's done telling his rules, it's back and he picks it up.

Plot hole: After the dinosaur kids wrecked the playground, Manny tells Sid, "Whatever they are, take them back" and someone says "What are they?" as well. Later, when Mummy Dinosaur appears, Ellie says, "I thought those guys were extinct!" and one minute later Manny says, "She's a dinosaur!" How could they possibly not see that the kids were dinosaurs if they already knew about dinosaurs in the first place?

Suggested correction: They weren't sure about the baby dinosaurs' species because dinosaurs were thought to be extinct. The mother dinosaur eventually showing up, with her more convincing dinosaur properties of being much larger and menacing-looking, convinces them otherwise.

Continuity mistake: In the scene where Buck tells about his encounter with Rudi, you see Buck swing back and forth on the gross pink thing. The next scene in the cave he is still swinging, "back and forth" but he's not hanging from anything.

Suggested correction: He is standing on his feet all this time, I recommend watching the movie.

Continuity mistake: When Buck recites his tale of how he lost the eye, he covers his eye with on hand (paw) and run up a bare tree. There are no leaves in the vicinity, and there is nothing in either hand (paw). But reaching the top, he ties the eye-patch.

Suggested correction: He landed on the ground where he could possibly grab a leaf. How he got it up the tree is still inexplicable.

Plot hole: The baby dinosaurs are small enough that Sid can carry them when they are still eggs, yet as soon as they are born they are twice the size they were inside the eggs. Their size shouldn't have changed that much, and even if it did the eggs would have been much too large for Sid to carry.

Suggested correction: Inside the eggs they were bent and arranged much more compactly, the size is totally correct.

Plot hole: In the end of the movie, when Scrat is back on the ice world with the acorn, he mocks Scratte about it. However, the ceiling to the dinosaur world is thousands of feet up, so how could Scrat see and hear Scratte, and vice versa?

Plot hole: In the very end of the movie, when Scrat rides the rocket back to the ice world, it smashes a hole through the ice layer. Two mistakes follow: First, bits and pieces of ice fall away from the rocket. One can conclude that the hole is slightly bigger than the ice slab above, yet they fit perfectly together when the ice falls back down. Second, how can the ice separate from the rocket and fall exactly where it was before?

Other mistake: As Sid gets Scrat stuck on his foot in the beginning of the movie, the sky and mountains shouldn't be visible, Scrat being at the bottom of the ravine he just fell in. (00:03:15)

Continuity mistake: When Crash and Eddie faint, Ellie's trunk is tucked away like Manny's trunk, then when Ellie says, "I thought those guys were extinct," Ellie's trunk is now in front of her.

Sid: I know what it's like to feel abandoned.

Question: In Buck's first theory scene, when Sid attacks Mummy dinosaur with the broccoli, what is all that green stuff that takes over the picture? Has the dinosaur turned into the broccoli? If so, why did Manny say " where's the dinosaur" if the dinosaur became the broccoli?

THE GAMER NEXT DOOR

Answer: The "green stuff" covering the view of the camera are fragments of the broccoli that were released due to the broccoli being used for hitting, likely representing the dinosaur's transition development of becoming a vegetable. The dinosaur was claimed to have become a vegetable, not that broccoli itself. The broccoli was only used, by Sid, as self-defence, turning the dinosaur into another vegetable.
