Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs

Corrected entry: Lava solidifies when it touches air, so lava falls wouldn't be red and yellow; it would be brown and black, with traces of red.

trulyrandom

Correction: Lava does not instantaneously solidify when it touches air; I've seen many videos of lava flows where the entire flow is glowing bright orange.

BocaDavie

Corrected entry: Scrat and Scratte were riding the rocket up to the ice world. They both grab the acorn, Scrat yanks it out of the rock, Scratte falls away, but shouldn't Scrat fall, too?

trulyrandom

Correction: No, because he's still sat atop the rock(et), where as Scratette fell off because she lost grip of the acorn, Scrat never did.

GalahadFairlight

Corrected entry: In the scene right before the carnivorous plant scene, Ellie says, "Hold on". The camera then switches to Manny, and you can see Crash, Eddie, and Diego walking in the background. However, if you look to the right of Diego, you can also see Buck, even though he hadn't joined the group yet. He then disappears from them until the time he's supposed to appear. Perhaps maybe he was originally going to join the herd in his first appearance?

Correction: Buck was shadowing the group the entire time they were in the dinosaurs' land, as he points out later on.

MovieFan612

Corrected entry: In the first Ice Age, the mammoth, sloth, and tiger returned a human child to its parents. But in this movie, there were dinosaurs when dinosaurs were extinct, before Eskimos.

belin

Correction: The whole point was that the dinosaurs were in another, parallel existence. It requires a stretch of the imagination, much like talking animals, but it's not a plot hole.

MovieFan612

Continuity mistake: In the beginning, Scrat is sniffing for his acorn and reaches the end of the cliff. Before he reaches the end, look at his saber teeth closely; they've disappeared. When his nose goes over the edge, they reappear.

Question: Why was Ankylosaurus depicted as an omnivore in this movie? In real life it was a herbivore.

Answer: 1. We don't know it was trying to eat the group. It may have just been trying to scare them away from its territory. 2. This isn't a true ankylosaur. It's something with 65 million additional years of evolution. There is no reason for it to be exactly the same as the Cretacean version.
