Continuity mistake: No snow in all exterior scenes except for when Chief Bowden pays a return visit to have dinner with the female resident of the building which was a fire scene early in the episode. He gets out of his car and walks to the building with several inches of snow on the ground. The immediate next scene of Shay (supposedly the same time) has spotlessly clean streets.
Chicago Fire (2012)
1 continuity mistake in Out with a Bang
Starring: Jesse Spencer, Lauren German, Monica Raymund, Taylor Kinney
Genres: Drama
Continuity mistake: When Jeff Clarke comes by the firehouse, Hermann wants to hug him but Clarke says "I don't really like people touching me." But throughout season 2 Clarke has hugged other fellow firefigthers (Cruz among others) with no problem.
Trivia: Casey is playing catch with a football at a Chicago Bears game. Casey throws the football is back underhand like it's a rugby ball and not the American way overhead. Casey is played by Jesse Gordon Spencer who is an Australian actor, so that's why he threw the football like it was rugby ball. (00:01:07)
Question: With the fire in the house, they opened up the walls and the ceiling. Why would they do that? Wouldn't that give the fire more oxygen?

Answer: Internet sources give many reasons why firefighters do this, but in regards to your question, it's probably because opening walls and ceilings creates better ventilation which allows heat and smoke to escape, giving firefighters better visibility and lowering the temperature.
