Emergency!

Tee Vee - S5-E11

Other mistake: When Station 51 is dispatched to the landslide, the engine company get into their turnouts and roll out, but in the next exterior shot as the engine drives past the camera, not only are the guys not in their turnouts, it's too obvious that none are 51's guys, and the one in Chet's jumpseat even leans forward. Presumably they're 127's guys. Also the light bar on the squad and the rotating light on the truck are not on.

Other mistake: When Station 51 is on scene at the landslide, there's a dresser on the grass in front of the house, and when the explosion occurs due to the broken gas main, in the closeups as Johnny dives to the ground there's what looks like a can of gasoline (used for the stunt perhaps) atop that dresser that wasn't there before, and it's also not in the wide shots as Johnny dives down.

Other mistake: After Brackett tries unsuccessfully to get O'Brien on the line to ask about the fish tank, it cuts to an exterior shot of Station 51, and we hear the dispatcher say, "All units responding with Engine 3 cancel," but subtitles read, "Four units with Engine 3 cancelled." Subtitles from Universal Studios 2010 DVD.

Other mistake: When the man injured in the manhole is brought to treatment 6, Early tells Roy to patch him up for an EKG, but the subtitles read, "Patch one from the EKG," and then Early tells the x-ray technician to do a skull and chest series, but the subtitles read, "Skull and chest searches." Subtitles from Universal Studios 2010 DVD.

Trainee - S2-E8

Roy: I think you're on some sort of an ego trip, Ed. And in my book that makes you a very dangerous character.
Ed: [Laughs.] Ego trip, huh? Well, I didn't realize that psychiatry was part of the paramedic's training.
Roy: Oh that's good, Ed, you be funny. But that isn't gonna change anything. You wanna know what I figure? Well, I figure when you were working in Vietnam, it was rough. So rough you started playing over your head. And you were making it, you were doing real good. Considering it was a combat situation. And pretty soon you started getting all blown up about how Ed Marlowe is just as good as the real doctors. And you've been living on that ever since. And the trouble is, Ed, you are good. Except for two little problems. You can't quit competing with real doctors. And you can't face being wrong. You see, those people we treat out there, I mean the people we work for, the people who pay for this whole operation, they're real people, Ed, with real problems. And they have a right to expect more than just being used by you for some sort of trip. [Completely exasperated.] I guess what I'm trying to say to you, Ed, is that in my book you're just plain unprofessional.
[Ed walks out.]
John: Do you think it did any good?
Roy: Do you?

Cinader's Involvement with the Los Angeles County Fire Department began in 1971 when he filmed a pilot television movie about the county's fledgling paramedic program."Emergency!" aired in 1972 and ran as a prime time show for five years with a weekly audience of 13 million people. As a result, Bob Cinader can be credited for making significant contributions to improving Emergency Medical Services. His Involvement and commitment was so intense, and his study of emergency services so thorough, he became an expert in the field. In 1975, he was appointed to the county's Emergency Medical Services Commission, where he served until his death in 1982. In recognition of his extraordinary public service, on May 28,1985, the board of supervisors voted unanimously to pay special tribute to Bob Cinader by naming Fire Station 127 in Carson, which was used in the filming of "Emergency!", in his honor." Fire Station 127 is named the Robert A. Cinader Memorial Fire Station.
