Factual error: Jeweler Albert Harrad calls Laura from his desk phone, but only punches six buttons before getting hold of her office. All U.S. phone numbers have seven digits: six wouldn't have connected him to anything. (00:37:30)
Remington Steele (1982)
1 factual error in To Stop a Steele
Starring: Pierce Brosnan, Doris Roberts, Stephanie Zimbalist
Continuity mistake: Steele props up the deceased Kalil and puts a cigarette in the dead man's hand. When the camera angle reverses, the cigarette moves to a different position: first it's between fingers two and three, then it's between three and four. (00:25:45)
Kessler: Who are you?
Remington Steele: Just a happy go lucky tourist out to see a bit of the world.
Neff: Is that why you've got five passports, from five different countries, in five different names?
Remington Steele: Kept trying for a good picture.
Trivia: One of the running gags in the series in Steele's penchant for quoting or referencing old movies for inspiration. Near the end of this episode, Steele is asked how they will get the diamond back. He says "The Thomas Crowne Affair, Steve McQueen, Faye Dunaway, 1968." 16 years later, Pierce Brosnan (who plays Remington Steele) would play the title role in the 1999 remake of "The Thomas Crown Affair."
