Teacher Comes to Dinner - S3-E9
Continuity mistake: As the family is sitting at the breakfast table during one of the very first scenes, Beaver gets up to leave for school. The checkered napkin in his lap falls to the floor as he walks to the back door. The camera cuts back to the table where the napkin has magically reappeared.
Continuity mistake: When Ward is talking to Beaver in the bedroom, he stands behind Beaver and is in the process of combing his hair. When Ward sits on the dresser, Beaver's hair has somehow finished being combed. (00:24:18)
Continuity mistake: There are a couple of continuity errors in the dance scene: First, the 4 girls sitting across from the boys switch positions from one shot to the next, then the last girl (long dark hair) disappears from the row of girls entirely, only to show up on the dance floor later in the scene. She was across from (and should have been paired up with) Beaver; instead, the teacher nods toward a now-empty chair and remarks that they "ran out of girls". (00:08:00)
Continuity mistake: Beaver gets his tonsils out in this episode, but in 3-29 "Beaver's Monkey", Beaver compared the situation in that episode to being just like when he had his tonsils out. Did they grow back?
Continuity mistake: When Margie Manners is shown mopping the Cleaver's kitchen floor she is using a sponge mop. When Wally comes in, the scene then shows Margie pushing a string mop against Wally's shoes.
Continuity mistake: When June is talking to Wally, she's wearing a wristwatch and her wedding ring on her left hand. But in a close-up shot of her hands while she's making a sandwich, her left hand is bare with no watch or ring. Back to the wide shot, and the watch and ring are on her hand again. (00:05:25)
Continuity mistake: When Beaver makes a face for The School Picture, he sticks his tongue out. But when Mrs. Rayburn and Miss Landers are looking at the picture sometime later, Beaver isn't sticking his tongue out. (00:13:00)
Continuity mistake: At the start Ward drives up in their old 1959 Plymouth Belvedere. He had been driving the 1961 Plymouth Fury for some time in season 4.
Continuity mistake: After Eddie and Lumpy show up to help The Beav and Wally load the lawn trash into Lumpy's car, Eddie places a lampshade and a woman's hat over a burlap bag of trash and jokes it's Lumpy's date: "Who says Lumpy can't get a girl?" Just then the camera cuts over to Lumpy who says "ha ha ha." The street is at Lumpy's back and a car is driving in the background towards Eddie. When the camera switches back to Eddie, Lumpy approaches Eddie. The car should drive past, but it never does. (00:14:37 - 00:15:40)
Continuity mistake: In "The Credit Card" four episodes before this one, Eddie uses the $15.00 that Wally pays him from a loan to buy a vest. Later Eddie has to give the vest to a friend in order to get back money owed to Eddie's father. But in this episode we see Eddie at Lumpy's party wearing the very same vest.
