The Big Sleep - S1-E2

Revealing mistake: A minute or so after the health and fitness instructer dies, we see her lying flat out on her back. If you look carefully, you can see her chest moving up and down and breathing despite being dead. (00:13:05)

Suggested correction: If you actually watch the whole episode you will find she didn't die at all.

Talking rubbish I think, she did die. Maybe you're confusing her with the old lady who fainted?

At what point in the show did they reveal the instructor didn't die? It was the old lady who had just fainted.

Bishop73

Agreed. It's actually a plot point of the episode at the end.

I'm a big fan of this comedy and have probably watched each episode 20 times! I struggle to recall any mention of the fitness instructor not being dead.

We Have Put Her Living in the Tomb - S2-E2

Revealing mistake: When Victor and Margaret arrive back from her goddaughter's, they find their new wallpaper has been stripped. Margaret then goes up the stairs to bed and through the arch window you can see her stop at the top of the stairs waiting for the scene to end.

Love and Death - S2-E5

Visible crew/equipment: On the train at the start, after everyone has left except Victor and Margret, you can see a boom operator reflected in the door's glass panel. You can see him and it's even more noticeable when he lowers the boom for when Victor sits down. (00:04:05)

Love and Death - S2-E5

Revealing mistake: When Victor gets the glass stuck to his head, it's obvious there is a clear piece of plastic to stop the beer spilling out. This is obvious as it never goes past a certain point, but stops instantly.

The Beast in the Cage - S3-E4

Deliberate mistake: In the shot where we see the cars in front of Victor's (shortly after Victor gets out of the car and gets back in when the traffic starts moving) you can see that after the white car on the right that there are no more cars even though the episode takes place in a traffic queue! If you listen to the commentary on the DVD, writer David Renwick points out the mistake and informs us that they had a limited number of cars for the shot. (00:11:25)

The Pit and the Pendulum - S4-E1

Revealing mistake: The inside of the kitchen set doesn't match the external shot of the real location when looking at the inside of the kitchen door. The studio has a flat wall with green patterned wallpaper, where the real kitchen has a cupboard, white handles and the worktop directly next to the door side.

Suggested correction: No, this is not the case.

The Man Who Blew Away - S5-E1

Continuity mistake: If you look at the corner cabinet in the Meldrew's kitchen near to the door that leads into the living room, you will notice that in some shots there is an ornamental chicken and in other shots it changes to a different blue coloured ornament.

Only a Story - S5-E2

Continuity mistake: At the beginning of the episode Margaret enters the living room and discovers that their new wallpaper has come down. In the shot from the kitchen, the wallpaper hanging down is not visible, but in the next shot there is a piece hanging down which should have been visible in the previous shot. (00:01:20)

Only a Story - S5-E2

Visible crew/equipment: When Margaret is about to confront Victor with the truth about his reflexology, in the first shot that pans over to Margaret on the very left of the screen, a hand appears and pulls the door back. It can't be Jean as we see her leaving the room to go upstairs a few shots earlier.

Trivia: The Christmas Special that aired in 1995, was initially intended as the series' finale, and would have seen Victor being killed while saving Margaret who was being attacked by a madman. The 1997 special was then intended to end the series with Margaret dying from a heart attack brought on from the strain of Victor's misadventures, but on both occasions the production crew got cold feet. It wasn't until the final series in 2000 that the team, in David Renwick's words, "plucked up the courage to kill Victor."
