Other mistake: At the start, the soon-to-be victim gets off the A train at Spring Street (subway heads south, then Bklyn/Queens) and stands on the west-side platform, facing the southern subway exit, then the unsub comes up from behind him, shoots him and he falls toward the same way that the unsub walks - the southern exit. However, when Hotchner plays the NYPD's surveillance footage, the victim is facing the northern subway exit when the unsub comes up from behind him, shoots, and he falls toward the same way that the unsub walks - this time the northern subway exit. Interestingly, neither are flipped shots since we can see "Spring St" correctly. Later, when Prentiss reviews footage it's as it was shown originally.

Plain Sight - S1-E4
Visible crew/equipment: When the BAU are presenting their profile of the unsub, the actor's T-mark is visible on the floor in the shots facing Captain Griffith, who's sitting on the desk, when Gideon takes a seat on the chair.
No Way Out - S2-E13
Visible crew/equipment: When George is talking about the school bus, you can see the shadow from a microphone in the bottom left hand corner. (00:35:25)
Continuity mistake: In the scene when the investigators at the police station realize who the killer is, the deputy enters and says that a revolver is missing. However, when Cory pulls out the weapon in the woods, he is holding a semi-automatic pistol. The deputy would know the difference between the two, but still uses the wrong term (a revolver may be referred to as a pistol, but an automatic like Cory had stolen can never be called a "revolver", as the chamber does not revolve).
Continuity mistake: When the guidance counselor is addressing the community members, Reid is standing against the wall with his arms crossed, and then immediately after his hands are in his pockets, and you see him crossing his arms.
Empty Planet - S2-E8
Factual error: This episode takes place in current Seattle today (no illusions of a "Seattle in this fantasy world") including using Google earth as a means of identifying a specific area of action. But all the street signs in this episode are blue where as all street/interstate signs in Washington State are green with white letters.
Factual error: When Garcia asks Reid about the IP address of one of the victims father's computer he says "374.54.12.3." On screen also the IP address of the router can be seen which reads "192.3.16.7894. Neither is possible. The numbers in any IP address can only range between 0 and 255, since they are actually 4 groups of 8 bits each. (00:10:45)
Other mistake: JJ calls Hotch unsure if she can make direct contact with the unsub, fearing that she will make a mistake. Hotch tells her she will do fine and tells her that they are gathering background information about Flynn, who is the unsub. At this point the team have not yet figured out the identity of the unsub and Hotch should not know his name. (00:27:35)
Empty Planet - S2-E8
Factual error: In the opening sequence a bomb is detonated on a bus in Seattle, in the vicinity of the Seattle Center/Space Needle. Right after the explosion, as people are moving towards the now smoking bus you can see a palm tree in the background. There are no large palm trees in metropolitan Seattle and absolutely none in this area.
The Fisher King: Part 1 - S1-E22
Continuity mistake: Agent Anderson (who takes Elle to her house) puts on his jacket twice.
![Criminal Minds mistake picture](/images/screenshots/160000-160999/160242_sm.jpg)
Continuity mistake: When the team is profiling the unsub, Reid's watch goes from being under his sweater's sleeve to being over it.
Continuity mistake: The BAU has its 'own' airplane in use at the FBI. However the type of plane used varies between episodes and even within an episode (and even for at least one episode within one shot; see previous post). Although it would be likely for the BAU to have one dedicated airplane at least within one episode, it could be they time-share and so different planes are used. No matter what plane they are using, one thing never changes and that's the interior of the planes. So even when a different type of plane is used (e.g. Gulf Stream V vs. 100), the interior remains the same.
Other mistake: When Morgan is showing the rest of the team the drivers license photos of the hostages on the train, every one of them is wearing the same shirt as they are on the train.
Factual error: Morgan is following a suspect into the subway tunnels. As he is coming around a corner, you can see the tracks behind Morgan. The tracks are three straight pieces of track making a corner. There is no way a train can make a corner on straight tracks. There should have been curved tracks.
Continuity mistake: When the kidnapper is taking the girl out of the basement, she is barefoot as she climbs the ladder; but when Morgan pulls her out of the car, she is wearing sandals with an intricate strapping pattern.
Suggested correction: It's quick, but if you look close you can see the heel strap of her sandals as she takes the first step on the ladder.
There's No Place Like Home - S7-E7
Character mistake: When Travis James' juvenile record is brought up, Oklahoma is spelled "Oaklahoma."
Character mistake: Morgan asks Reid what track on the CD (Some Kind of Monster by Metallica) would help an insomniac sleep. Reid replies with "Enter Sandman" however, Some Kind of Monster doesn't feature the song Enter Sandman. (00:29:00)
Suggested correction: Morgan doesn't ask what song on that album would speak to an insomniac, he asks what Metallica song in general would. He says, and I quote, "Okay, so I'm an insomniac who listens to Metallica to get to sleep. What song could possibly speak to me?" His query is in regards to the band's discography as a whole; neither he nor Reid mention a specific album, so the fact that "Some Kind of Monster" is the CD that they find is, ultimately, irrelevant.
The team was looking for what CD Slessman listened to the most to figure out what his password could be. They had no luck going through all his metal collection. The clue was suppose to be Slessman listened to "Some Kind of Monster" CD the most to help him sleep, which is why it wasn't in the case.
Factual error: Agents are staking out a suspect in Boynton Beach, Florida. A truck approaches and they can see the license plate on the front of it. There are no front license plates in Florida. Only rear.
Character mistake: When Reid is visiting his mother, playing Scrabble, he has eight tiles on his rack (ROLOAWAD), but a player can only have seven tiles at a time.
Continuity mistake: In the scene just after Gideon talks to Cherish's mother we see him start to walk toward the rest of the team. In the wide shot we see Reid standing with his hands in his pockets and jacket open, we then see him close his jacket and cross his arms as Gideon gets closer, but in the very next shot (the close up on Reid) we see his jacket open and his arms at his side once more.
