Mother and Child Reunion - S1-E13

Continuity mistake: After Willie and Alf talk about what's for breakfast, in the far away shot Lynn has a bottle of orange juice and she begins pouring it into a glass, then she starts putting the lid back on the bottle. When the camera cuts to a close up of just Alf and Dorothy, not only is the bottle of orange juice already sat down but Lynn starts to grab her glass of orange juice without anytime to have put the bottle down, let alone to start to pick up her glass. Mother and Child Reunion - S1-E13

Continuity mistake: After Dorothy tells Alf that her 'mop from the moon" comment was an insult, Alf says "If I had a straw and a napkin, I would fill you so full of spit balls." while Dorothy is looking right at Alf but when the camera cuts to just Dorothy, she is all of a sudden looking upwards as she says "Do you hear how he's talking to me?" Border Song - S1-E18

Question: How did Alf grow so much zucchini when he insists that he didn't plant any? Did I miss something? Is there a deleted scene, maybe?

Answer: Regarding the "how", zucchini is an easy-to-grow vegetable that proliferates quickly, almost like a weed. My mother and our neighbours used to grow it, resulting in an over-abundance that was sometimes difficult to give away.

raywest

Answer: In addition to Raywest's comment, Alf must have planted some zucchini, unless it originated from a neighbouring property. He is probably joking when he says that he didn't plant any, because he knows the family is mildly annoyed.
