Revealing mistake: Throughout numerous episodes while the team is supposed to be driving the van, the gear selector can be seen in the "park" position.
Continuity mistake: John "Hannibal" Smith's rank changes from to Colonel to Lieutenant Colonel in different shows. In some of the early episodes we see him in uniform as Lt. Col. but in later episodes such as when they are on trial, Smith is wearing the rank of Full Colonel.
Other mistake: In his numerous appearances, Col. Roderick Decker (played by Lance LeGault) was leading the Military Police squad, and though he was Army, he always had a Marines cap on.
Answer: They never use an M14. The nearly always use a Ruger Mini 14, a totally different weapon.
