Batman's Anniversary (1) - S2-E45
Trivia: This is the only two-episode story arc in which John Astin replaced Frank Gorshin as the Riddler. After settling a contract and salary dispute with the studio, Gorshin returned to play the Riddler one last time, in the show's last season.
The Duo Is Slumming (2) - S2-E32
Trivia: At Commissioner Gordon's office, when Batman is checking the package Puzzler had sent, he's using the Bat-stethoscope to listen intently for ticking. Note how the headphone earpieces of the Bat-stethoscope are placed on the pointy bat ears material at the top of Batman's cowl, and not lower where the man's actual ears are located under the cowl. Answer: It's wasn't unusual for multiple actors to play one character on this show. The villains on the TV Batman were played by guest stars, not regular cast members. George Sanders, Otto Preminger, and Eli Wallach played the part at various times. They may simply have only wanted to play the part once or twice, or they were later tied up with other projects, making it necessary to cast someone else. Other characters, like Catwoman, were also played by more than one actress.
