Deliberate mistake: After Monk and Sharona speak to Gratnik in Dumbo, they take the subway back to Manhattan. While Monk is sobbing, in the first exterior shot the "A" train slows into the 42 St station in Manhattan; note the "A" at the left with the driver on the right, as well as the "42" station sign not reflected backwards, all revealing a flipped shot. Then it's the "C" train when it stops, with Monk and Sharona back in Brooklyn, even further now at the "Hoyt-Schermerhorn Street" platform (used for TV shows and films), in lower Downtown Brooklyn. Continuity mistake: At the end when the Captain is given his pants, he unfolds the newspaper and turns it right side up. In the next shot, he's turning it right side up again.

Continuity mistake: The stacks of chips Monk bets when the dealer says they can't cover that change when Mr. Thorn says they can. Some stacks are shorter and have different colors on top. They change again when Monk figures out the case.

Continuity mistake: When the guys are following Disher, after he passes the store, the driver side window is rolled up. But in the next shot, it's rolled down.

Character mistake: Monk says that Croatia is a new country and didn't exist until 1992, but Croatia gained independence in 1991. However, Croatia still existed prior to that, it was just part of the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia. So things could still be made in Croatia.

Continuity mistake: In the pet store, the bird's cage has a plastic covering on the sides. But in various shots, either one or both coverings are missing.
Suggested correction: This is wrong, it was just the way the camera angle made the cage appear where I couldn't differentiate the space between the bars, so it looked like there must have been a covering.

Continuity mistake: The way Lizzy is holding the envelope changes in the different shots. Plus, the flap is down at first but then up later.

Continuity mistake: When Sharona is trying to comfort Monk after he gets off the elevator, she's holding his hand and rubbing his arm. When Michelle walks away, in the next shot, Sharona's hands are on Monk's chest and shoulder.
