Thrill Kill - S5-E1
Factual error: When Dylan gets out of jail, a palm tree can be seen in the background behind him. This reveals that the scene was filmed in Los Angeles, not Philadelphia.
Continuity mistake: At the end of the episode when showing the flashback of Carl's death, when he is laying on the ground already dead his arm changes position from being bent with his hand at his shoulder, to being straight by his side.
Factual error: The opening scene is identified as taking place in 1980, yet the characters are singing along to "No Surrender" which wasn't released until 1984.
Factual error: Look at the area by the door when we see Margot and Spencer in the hotel room in 1989. The light switch is a flat "Decora" switch, and above the door handle is a black box that houses electronics for a "card key" system. The light switch was not introduced until the 1990s, and while the card key system was introduced in 1985, only very expensive hotels afforded the conversion costs - and the hotel they're at isn't exactly the Hilton.
Factual error: They show the side of a 1965 Philadelphia Police car. The gold shield on the door was not used until 1968.
Creatures of the Night - S2-E21
Factual error: Mike and Kelly are at the theater watching "Rocky Horror Picture Show" in 1977, talking during the song "Sweet Transvestite." After the line "satanic mechanic" and the audience callback "S and M.", which is only about two thirds of the way into the song, the music suddenly crescendos and ends, to be replaced by the song "Touch-a Toucha-a Touch Me," which occurs several scenes further into the movie.
Factual error: They show a 1965 flashback of a blue Philadelphia Police car. The Philadelphia police didn't go to the blue cars until 1973 when Mayor Frank Rizzo saw that New York went to the blue cars and liked the color. Before that the cars were red.
Continuity mistake: At the end of the episode, when Elizabeth Stone is arguing with her daughter at the top of the stairs, her shawl goes from around her arms, to across her back, to completely gone several times from shot to shot.
Factual error: When they are flashing back on "Bobby" in 1948 the actor has 2 piercings in his left ear. Men wouldn't have pierced ears in 1948.
Revealing mistake: The outline of a blood squib can be seen under Stillman's shirt just before he's shot.
Revealing mistake: When Mr. Hathaway contacts Scotty as they dig up his son's bicycle, a shot of Hathaway shows Los Angeles' US Bank Tower in the background. The series is set in Philadelphia.
Visible crew/equipment: When Roger's holding the twins over the railing, Cindy grabs Maura, but Roger drops Vivian, and just as he lets the little girl fall we can see both hands of a crew member at the bottom of the screen.
Factual error: When Rush and Miller pull up to the vacant lot, the Los Angeles skyline is visible in the background. The series is set in Philadelphia. (00:21:54)
Knuckle Up - S4-E12
Continuity mistake: When James confronts the headmaster, the amount of blood coming from his nose varies.
Thrill Kill - S5-E1
Character mistake: At the end, when Dylan exits the prison, there's a sign that reads "No Tresspassing" on the prison gate. However, "No Trespassing" is the correct spelling. (00:42:35)
The Lost Soul of Herman Lester - S1-E17
Visible crew/equipment: When Stillman and Rush pay a visit to the coach, he makes an unpleasant "missy" comment toward Rush, and as she walks out there's a visible T-mark taped to the floor near the coach's desk. (00:30:05)
Resolutions - S1-E18
Continuity mistake: When the man gets out of the car at the gas station, he opens the gas cap lid and unscrews the cap. He then starts arguing with the gas station attendant and chases him into the office. Another man runs into the car to steal it, but the gas cap lid is now completely closed. (00:15:05)
The Lost Soul of Herman Lester - S1-E17
Continuity mistake: Ray Lester is sitting at a table wearing a white hoodie, chatting with his mother and Detective Valens. Ray's empty right hand is lying on the table, with a closed bottle of water on the floor beside his chair. It cuts for exactly 2 seconds to Detective Rush signaling Valens to bring the mom into the next room. When it turns back to the three, Ray Lester is now holding the open Poland Spring water bottle in his right hand, on the table. Much too quick to lift and open in 2 seconds. (00:28:03)
Visible crew/equipment: In the scene when Ellen is the bathroom she calls her cats and you can see a hand pushing one of the cats through the doorway. (00:25:35)
Factual error: In a flashback, Danny is depicted as listening to the Dean Martin song "You're Nobody till Somebody Loves You" (indicated by the change in volume when he opens the door for his parents) which wasn't released until November 1964, two months after Danny's portrayed death in September 1964.
Chosen answer: According to IMDb.com, it is Carly Simon.
