Continuity mistake: Peggy Hill's mother seems to change over the course of the show. Prior to the ninth season, whenever Peggy's mother is seen (in the present or in flashbacks), she is portrayed as an older version of Peggy. In the ninth season's premiere episode, Peggy's mother is a lean, leather-skinned rancher who disdains Peggy and lives on a secluded ranch. The change in facial features and appearance is too much to just be a change in style as well.
Continuity mistake: In several episodes, the color of Alamo Beer that Hank, Dale, Boomhauer, and Bill drink, changes color. In "Uh-Oh Canada" the beer is yellow, but in "Death of a Propane Salesman" when Hank pours the beer into a glass, it is brown.
Continuity mistake: Throughout the first couple of seasons, Hank's first truck switches between automatic and manual transmissions. This is most obvious in the episodes "Chasing Bobby", in which it has a manual transmission and "Texas City Twister", in which it has an automatic transmission.
Continuity mistake: The ages of Hank, Peggy, and Didi (Hank's stepmother) are inconsistent throughout the show. In the season one episode "Shins of the Father", Hank states that Didi went to kindergarten with him, so they are the same age. In the season four episode "Peggy Hill: The Decline and Fall", Hank mentions that Didi is three years older than Peggy. Therefore Hank is also three years older than Peggy, if he and Didi were in the same kindergarten class. Finally, in the season five episode "Luanne Virgin 2.0", Hank says that he and Peggy were already married when they were eighteen. This is not possible if he and Didi are the same age and went to kindergarten together. He would have had to marry a fifteen-year-old Peggy if he was married by age eighteen.
Continuity mistake: In earlier episodes, Luanne is very knowledgeable about cars. This is shown in "Shins of the Father" (Season 1). In "Jumpin' Crack Bass" (Season 2), she does repairs on Hank's truck - and Hank is known to be protective of his truck. As the series goes on, she becomes a stereotypical "dumb" promiscuous type, with no apparent expertise in cars.
Continuity mistake: When Hank is barbecuing and turns the steak over, there are four burgers on the grill. When he tells Bill that the steak is for his father, there are only three. (00:02:50)
Continuity mistake: Bobby takes a bite of his brownie and leaves most of it on his tray when he starts to get up and the teacher comes over to talk about his attitude. A few seconds later, when he and Joseph start slamming their trays on the table, the brownie is gone. (00:17:45)
Continuity mistake: In this episode only, Hank admires his father and defends, or dismisses, most of Cotton's bad qualities. As Peggy says: "You just cannot see your father for who he is." Throughout the rest of the series, Hank and Cotton's relationship is tense and unpleasant. In the episode "The Father, The Son, and JC" (Season Six), Bobby can't even find an old photo in which Hank and Cotton are both happy.
Continuity mistake: When Hank and Bobby throw toilet paper over Junie Harper's tree, Hank is only able to throw one roll over the tree and after Bobby knocks over the birdhouse they have to run away. The next morning when Hank is driving Bobby they look over to see Junie Harper trying to get the toilet paper out of the trees, but there is now a lot more than just one roll.
Husky Bobby - S2-E6
Continuity mistake: Backstage at the fashion show, Andie uses his bag to knock Bobby's bag off of the makeup counter. When Andie sits down and tells Bobby to go get him a brownie, both bags have disappeared.
Continuity mistake: Connie was shown wearing blue/green sneakers when the kids entered the cave but when they wanted to leave she had her flip-flops on, and then the sneakers again for the rest of the show.
The Unbearable Blindness of Laying - S2-E11
Continuity mistake: When the family leaves for the basketball game Peggy brings the wrong foam finger (not the basketball one) so Hank turns around to get it. It shows him walking into the house, finding it but also finding what he thinks is laundry all over the floor. He also hears what he thinks is innocently the washer or dryer running. He follows the noise towards the kitchen, slowly opens the door to find his mother and Gary presumably having sex on the kitchen table. The problem here is that the kitchen has no door. From inside the kitchen in any episode it is never visible. I checked and further into this episode while opening presents it shows an entrance to the kitchen from the living area where Hank entered and there is no door on that side either. In truth it is an open doorway.
The Unbearable Blindness of Laying - S2-E11
Continuity mistake: The sliding glass door at the Hills' house leads into the kitchen. On the wall next to the door is the chore list and a cutout of the state of Texas, and sitting on the floor is a trash can. There is also no sign of the kitchen table which sits right inside that door as well. Sometimes a trash can is there, etc. When Hank storms out of the house while rest of the family is opening presents, there is a shot when Peggy comes out after him and it shows back inside the door. Instead of what is normally on the wall to the right if you were looking from the outside in, you see a small dresser and all the wall looks to be either a picture or a mirror.
Meet the Manger Babies - S2-E12
Continuity mistake: While Hank and his friends are watching the game, right before Bill says, "Yes! Made it to the commercials!" he wipes his hands on the couch and leaves a mess on it, but when he is imitating the football player's touchdown dance, you can see that the mess is gone.
Continuity mistake: Hank takes Bill's sock off and the guys discover his toe fungus. While they're talking, Hank is still holding the sock. In the next shot of Bill, his sock is back on. (00:02:45 - 00:03:15)
Continuity mistake: When Leanne first arrives, she kisses Luanne, and gets red lipstick marks on her. Later, when Leanne and Luanne are near the bathroom and Leanne says "I knew you would understand" (about Bill), she kisses Luanne, but there are no marks from her lipstick. Even if she mostly kissed Luanne's neck, at least part of some of the marks should show when Luanne turns to leave (after talking to Peggy).
Continuity mistake: Before Hank fires Leon he is seen in the showroom foaming from the mouth and there is a door to his right. In the next shot when Hank is being talked to by Mr Strickland, there is now a bulletin board to Leon's right and the door has disappeared.
Continuity mistake: When Peggy is leaving for her guitar recital, she is getting in the car and is wearing a pink sleeved shirt. Then there is a quick shot from behind the car, when Peggy is getting into her car, but her shirt is now a sleeveless green one.
Continuity mistake: After the Mother's day recital the Hills are driving home in the truck. When they show Bobby saying, "Uh I didn't take my medicine" you can see the seat backing behind him is a dark green color. You can also see the framing and bars around the back window is also dark green. After showing Peggy and Hank again, it goes to another close up of Bobby and the seat backing is now light blue like the front seat backing. The framing and bars around the back window have also changed to a silver color.
Continuity mistake: When Buck tells his employees about his plan for "service with a hug" there's a closeup of Hank. In the next shot a car pulls up in front of Strickland Propane, and in the exterior shot the front door knob is at the right side of the door, but in the next interior shot the door knob is still at the right side of that door, though it should be on the left side. (00:03:45)
Answer: If you are talking about the "Thou shalt not do this, thou shalt not do that" song, I'm not sure if a song like that actually exists. Green Day, the guest voices on the episode, might have just been improvising to keep their appearance from being too obvious.
