Continuity mistake: After Carter pulls the IV out of the patient who was allergic to sulfa, Malik asks, "Where's all the blood coming from?" and we see the patient's arm outstretched, bleeding from where the IV was. Carter says, "She must have pulled the IV out", and we see her arm folded up over her stomach - there was no time for the change in position.
Stuck on You - S5-E6
Continuity mistake: Near the start of the show, Lucy goes into Carter's room, putting her backpack on the bed and disturbing his girlfriend. She then turns and rushes out of the room, and her backpack is on her back, even though she didn't have time to put it there.
Continuity mistake: Carol is signing papers for the notary and he is complaining about his job - he has one hand up on his large book and the other in his lap. The shot changes and his arm and hand are under the book, with no time to shift naturally.
Continuity mistake: Susan and nurse Connie are talking to the fraudulent doctor - Susan has her clipboard at waist level and is lifting one page up with her right hand. The next shot shows her holding the clipboard down at hip level and both hands are on it. There was not enough time for the change.
Continuity mistake: Near the beginning of the show, Doug is examining baby Josh and puts his stethoscope in his ears. Kerry says, "Your actions are totally irresponsible", and the shot goes to Doug. There is no sign of the stethoscope anywhere. The next shot, from behind him, shows it's around his neck. He then takes it off and the next shot should show it in his hands - but it's disappeared again.
Continuity mistake: Carter rushes over to a Coke dispenser where there are four plastic jugs filled with ice and we see him dump all four of them into a plastic tub. The camera goes to Anna, who says "Carter, Carter" and then we see him dump the last two jugs again. When Carter reaches the patient, there is considerably more ice in the tub than he had to begin with.
Continuity mistake: In the OR, Peter is trying to save Dr. Swanson's life. Lizzie is standing in the corner watching. She has her right hand up to her chin, resting the elbow on her left hand, which is at her waist. Subsequent shots show the opposite - her left hand on her right.
Continuity mistake: When the "accident" victims are brought in near near the start of the show, a woman wearing overalls is covered in masses of glistening blood in the closeup - but the wider shot shows less blood and it is much more dried on her clothing.
Continuity mistake: Carol is putting little bandages on Duncan's face and we see her put 2 on his forehead and 3 on his cheek. The shot changes and now there are 3 on his forehead and those on his cheek have shifted position slightly.
Continuity mistake: Mark is talking to Maggie about getting Louise on the transplant list - he has his arms clasped in front of him with his hands wrapped around his elbows. The shot changes and his right arm is outstretched with his hand on the wall - with no time for the change.
Continuity mistake: Early in the show, Mark is going into an office to meet with Morgenstern and another doctor. As he opens the door in the hall, his bag is slung over his right shoulder, but when the shot changes and he's entering the office, it's over his left shoulder. He had no time to change it.
Status Quo - S14-E11
Continuity mistake: Sam's hand instantly changes position after a camera cut, from her chest to on her hip. This is at the start when she says, "Shower sleep - that's more my style." (00:04:00)
Continuity mistake: When Carol is talking to Angie in the hospital, there is quite a large bloodstain on Carol's sweater, just below her left shoulder. She leaves the room, meets Doug, and without explanation, the bloodstain has disappeared.
Continuity mistake: When Peter goes to his sister's picnic, he puts a pink box on the table and then sits in front of it. When his attention is diverted by a woman, suddenly the box is in front of him.
Continuity mistake: When Jeanie is meeting with her doctor, the doc fills a mug with coffee and puts in on her desk. The mug does a 180-degree turn so that the handle is facing the opposite direction. Another shot - and it's back to the first position.
Continuity mistake: After saving Mr. Perez, Carter says "That's a nice save" to Mark, and takes his stethoscope out of his ears and wraps it around his neck. The next shot, however, from behind him, shows the stethoscope is still in his ears.
Continuity mistake: Mark is showing Lucy around the hospital and they go from an examination room to a trauma room - as they go through the doors, Mark is in front and pushes open the right door and we see it stays open. Lucy never touches it. But the shot showing them coming into the room has Mark letting go of the door and it swinging shut.
Obstruction of Justice - S4-E9
Continuity mistake: When Jeanie is in the office with Kerry, Anspaugh, and the union rep discussing her firing, her stethoscope changes position over her name tag several times within a few seconds.
Continuity mistake: Near the start of the show, Peter is holding baby Reese upright when he opens the door to Carla's room, but as the shot changes to show him coming through the door, suddenly the baby is lying horizontally in his arms.
Continuity mistake: Mark is watching Susan get on the helicopter and he hooks his Flight Physician jacket over his finger so it is hanging over his shoulder completely down his back. However, the shot from behind shows the jacket partially draped over his left shoulder - then it goes back to being down his back.
Answer: A man named Paul Sobriki comes into the ER in the season 6 episode 13 " All in the Family." He is complaining of headaches, Carter and Lucy decide to rule out meningitis and do a lumber puncture. Paul struggles during the procedure and believes that both doctors are stabbing him. Lucy, who is interested in Psych thinks something is wrong with their patient mentally, but Carter is dismissive of her. She gets cross with his attitude and she calls the psych department anyway to have a look at him. Later on and near the closing 20 minutes or so of the episode, all the staff start playing loud music and get a cake which appears to be blue lol, together to party as it's Valentines Day, Carter returns from somewhere and asks where Lucy is. He goes to check one of the rooms for her and Paul Sobriki comes up behind him in the dark and stabs him twice in the lower back, he collapses and as he falls unconscious he sees Lucy on the ground also. In the next episode, Be Still My Heart (ep 14), Dr Weaver discovers them and all of the staff work to try and save them, whilst Carter survives. Lucy's wounds are fatal and suffers a pulmonary embolism as Corday and Romano try to save her. Carter is grief stricken and feels guilty about the way he treated her, he becomes addicted to painkillers and Benton, Greene all help him and book him into rehab.
