Revealing mistake: As Larry walks up to the Stephens' house, his shadow falls across the "house" and "street" behind him, revealing that it is a painted backdrop. (00:14:45)
Plot hole: Darrin tells Samantha that Larry thinks the Stephenses are having a costume party. While Larry earlier had said that to himself when he looked through the Stephens' living room window, he never said it to Darrin. (00:20:45)
Continuity mistake: In Tabitha's room in an early scene, Tabitha for some reason is in her play pen in her bedroom rather than her crib as usual. Later, the crib is back when Darrin is securing her toys in the locked toy chest.
Double, Double, Toil and Trouble - S4-E4
Continuity mistake: The laundry room is far too large to fit into the space it appears to occupy beside the Stephens' kitchen. (00:04:50)
Double, Double, Toil and Trouble - S4-E4
Revealing mistake: As Serena gets hit by the pie her real blonde hair shows underneath, also, she wears minimal make-up for the only time.
Cheap, Cheap - S4-E5
Visible crew/equipment: There's a reflection of a man in a white shirt and jeans visible in the toaster between Darrin and Samantha. (00:23:00)
Birdies, Bogies, and Baxter - S4-E7
Other mistake: In the scene at the end where Baxter is saying "You learn something about how you take defeat, I never thought I would be learning something about myself" the background behind Baxter doesn't match the background when the shot is a wide shot showing the out door course, trees and buildings. Instead it looks like a painted backdrop perhaps filmed separately for the closeup. It's definitely not where Baxter is standing in wide shot.
Birdies, Bogies, and Baxter - S4-E7
Continuity mistake: When at the country club table the swimmers in the background change from shot to shot.
The Safe and Sane Halloween - S4-E8
Revealing mistake: In this episode when the Gremlin, Goblin, Jack-o-Lantern, and Sam are peeking in through the back window, the gremlin turns to look at Sam when she is speaking and his ear passes through the area where there is supposed to be glass.
Allergic to Macedonian Dodo Birds - S4-E11
Visible crew/equipment: When Samantha and Aunt Clara are on the roof of the house, the shadow of what appears to be someone's arm appears against the "sky" backdrop on the left side. (00:23:00)
Allergic to Macedonian Dodo Birds - S4-E11
Revealing mistake: When Samantha is on the roof with Aunt Clara, her shadow is visible on the sky background... especially lower left.
Samantha's Thanksgiving to Remember - S4-E12
Visible crew/equipment: While Sam is defending Darrin during the trial, just as she mentions their absurd belief that if someone speaks differently it's a sign of witchery, the white chalk T-mark is visible on the floor under the desk, where Phineas is sitting. It was not there in previous shots. (00:19:25)
Samantha's Thanksgiving to Remember - S4-E12
Factual error: I noticed a grandfather clock when they all arrived in Plymouth (in the right corner). I won't assume this is the first Thanksgiving since the colony is built up and seems established. Plymouth was from 1620-1690s. I had to research but apparently there would not have been an ornate grandfather clock available. The first clocks were built around the time but were not common - especially in an American colony like Plymouth struggling to survive.
Samantha's Thanksgiving to Remember - S4-E12
Continuity mistake: When Darrin is at the table with Phineas and John Alden the turkey changes positions. The legs are pointed towards Phineas then in side shot turns away then back.
Samantha's Thanksgiving to Remember - S4-E12
Continuity mistake: When Clara arrives and Samantha zaps her clothes on, Clara's hands and arms change positions between various shots.
Samantha's Thanksgiving to Remember - S4-E12
Continuity mistake: At the trial, the gavel changed positions between shots, you can see it moving forward and back in relation to the book. Also, the quill appears to change.
My, What Big Ears You Have - S4-E14
Factual error: When Abner opens the carton in their garage, Gladys asks what it is, Abner replies that it is a table saw, however, it is a radial arm saw.
I Get Your Nanny, You Get My Goat - S4-E15
Continuity mistake: In the opening scene, Tabitha's drum stick is big then small and later, when Elspith enters, the food changes/disappears.
Humbug Not to Be Spoken Here - S4-E16
Other mistake: In the previous episode, I've Got Your Nanny Right Here, Samantha tells Darrin "nobody travels by broom stick anymore. It's obsolete." She takes Mr. Mortimore to North Pole by broomstick.
Samantha's Da Vinci Dilemma - S4-E17
Revealing mistake: When Leonardo is going through the revolving door his arm/elbow goes through the frame where glass should be.
Answer: The original diamond and white gold heart necklace was given to Elizabeth Montgomery by her then real-life husband, William Asher, who also directed the show. She wore it in nearly every early episode. When the necklace was lost or stolen about mid-way through the series, Montgomery had two replicas made from rhinestones. She wore either one of those for the rest of the show's run.
