Other mistake: When Rose relates the story of her birth, she says that Ingrid died in childbirth, and her baby was left at the orphanage in a basket. Brother Martin didn't know of the child's existence until after she was adopted. So who put the baby in a basket, and why? If a woman died in childbirth at the hospital, with the baby's father unknown, the orphanage would have taken custody directly. Babies are abandoned in baskets by living parents.
Other mistake: Rose says that she was "eventually" adopted by the Lindstroms. Rose has previously stated that she lived at the orphanage for eight years. While "eight years" could qualify as "eventually," Rose also says that the Lindstroms took the beef sticks that were left in the basket with her, and that the basket contained cheese and crackers, as well. None of those items have a shelf life of eight years.
Other mistake: Rose tells a story about her mother having undergone plastic surgery to look like Raymond Massey back when she still lived in St. Olaf. However, we see her mother in an earlier episode and she looked nothing like him.
Chosen answer: Rose's husband Charlie died making love to her. There are at least 3 different ways Blanche's husband George is said to have died: 1. Blanche was getting a pedicure when he was killed. 2. He had a car accident and died. 3. He had been in a coma and died. In theory they could all be combined (he had a car accident, fell into a coma, then died while she was having a pedicure), but that's conjecture. I'm not sure how Sophia's husband Sal died.
The episode where Blanche said her husband was in a car accident, she said she was on the phone with an officer (who was eating potato chips, crunch) who was at the scene of the accident, and the officer said George was hit head on and died.
