The Golden Girls

A Piece of Cake - S2-E25

Continuity mistake: Towards the end, when Sofia's cake is done, she takes it out of the hot oven using potholders. Less than a minute later, when the men start to conga, you can see her discard the potholders and pick it up with her bare hands. It is a glass pan and still would have been much too hot to hold.

Empty Nests - S2-E26

Continuity mistake: When Dorothy snaps at Oliver, she mentions him "throwing up in the pool" at a new year's party at Blanche's house. There is no pool on the girls' property (which is Blanche's house, and they've always all lived there); it is never seen or mentioned outside of this episode.

Vacation - S2-E8

Continuity mistake: When the girls are sitting around the campfire, the amount of burned wood changes from shot to shot. First it's partially scorched, then mostly scorched then partially scorched again.

Mozzie-6

Big Daddy's Little Lady - S2-E6

Continuity mistake: Dorothy takes a cheesecake out of the fridge and it's halfway gone. When she gets to the table, the cheesecake changes and has not had a piece cut out of it. When she sets it on the table, it is halfway gone again.

Take Him, He's Mine - S2-E3

Continuity mistake: In this episode, Blanche goes out with Stan, which results in the two of them becoming good friends who see each other often and hang out together. The only reason they end their friendship is because Dorothy got jealous, not for personal differences between them. Although Dorothy assumed the two have an affair, it turns out they were really just platonic friends who liked going out together. Still, in every episode afterwards, Blanche dislikes Stan again and treats him like an annoying person just like before, even though in the meantime she figured out how much fun he can be as a friend.

High Anxiety - S4-E20

Continuity mistake: In this episode Rose says her cat Fluffy died (as a lie) and Dorothy says "Rose, you've never had a cat, you're allergic." When Blanche and Rose first meet she is holding a cat named Mr. Peepers, and looking for a place she and the cat can live. Another episode she says she had a cat named Lindstrom Lindstrom.

Suggested correction: After first meeting Blanche at the supermarket, Rose gave Mr. Peepers to a boy there. Dorothy could actually mean that Rose has never owned a cat for as long as Dorothy has known her. Regarding the allergies, people can be allergic to some cats, but not others. Or they will choose to live with a cat despite the allergies.

In another episode, Rose mentions her dog Rusty saved the family cat from a fire so she definitely lived with a cat for longer.

Trivia: Although she appeared to be an 80 year old on the show, the late Estelle Getty (born 7/25/23) was younger than her costars Betty White (born 1/17/22) and Bea Arthur (born 5/14/22); and Rue was the youngest of the four (2/21/34). Estelle at first was turned down for the role of Sophia (because she was too young). It was only after she came back dressed in a gray wig, thrift store dress, and heavily made-up, that she got the part.
