Smallville

Heat - S2-E2

Continuity mistake: When Jonathan goes to talk to Desiree, we see her getting out of the swimming pool. However her hair is just damp when it should have been completely wet and dripping all over the place considering the length of her hair.

Heat - S2-E2

Continuity mistake: When Jonathan goes to talk to Desiree, Jonathan throws Desiree a bathrobe. She then proceeds to put it on and lifts her right hand over her head as she does so. Cut to a different angle and now she is raising her right hand over her head once again.

Nocturne - S2-E5

Continuity mistake: Byron mom buys him a book by Edgar Allan Poe at the used bookstore. Byron takes it with his right hand and looks at it. Cut to a wider angle (as Byron stands up) but now he is holding the book in his left hand.

Duplicity - S2-E3

Continuity mistake: When Dr. Hamilton was about to pour liquid kryptonite on Clark, Pete hits him on the back and he goes crashing onto a table knocking everything on it off the table. Yet later we see an open bottle of liquid kryptonite on the edge of the table (which was cleared by the doctor earlier) dripping onto the doctors forehead.

Duplicity - S2-E3

Continuity mistake: At the collision, Pete looks out over the cornfield and sees the flashing turn signal of the truck but not its headlights, which should be brighter. (00:03:20)

Phoenix

Skinwalker - S2-E10

Continuity mistake: When Lex is talking to Lionel outside the building site at the end, Lex's sunglasses disappear while the camera is on Lionel and reappear when back on Lex. This happens after Lionel turns to face slightly behind Lex and continues throughout the rest of that exchange.

Visage - S2-E11

Audio problem: While talking about Tina Greer's suicide after Chloe says "lit a match" you can hear Pete say "okay" but you see his mouth doesn't move with the word.

Visage - S2-E11

Revealing mistake: When Tina puts the necklace on Clark to disable him, he falls to the ground of his barn. As he is lying there, his collar is very dark, and his shoulder is lit up. Since the source of the green light is supposed to be the necklace, his collar should be the brightest lit.

Red - S2-E4

Continuity mistake: After Jonathan and Martha talk about Clark's new behavior in the porch, we see Lana at the Talon sprinkling something onto a drink. When Clark was still walking towards Lana we can see that the pointed part of the container Lana was holding was pointing up. Cut to a different angle and now the pointed part of the container Lana is holding is pointing down.

Fever - S2-E16

Continuity mistake: After Clark says "I'm not leaving." Jonathan starts to talk about the list of things Martha needed to get done. As Jonathan says this there is a camera switch. Before the switch Clark is next to the window turned toward his dad. After the switch Clark is now standing further back from the window behind Jonathan's right shoulder.

Witness - S2-E20

Revealing mistake: Clark tries to stop the three guys who are inhaling refined kryptonite. As Clark gets tossed through a window, you can see the explosion of a small charge in the bottom left of the widow. Highly noticeable since Clark hits nowhere near where this charge goes off.

Exodus (2) - S2-E23

Continuity mistake: As Jor-El is first burning the mark on Clark's chest the mark moves to the upper right part of his chest. In the next shot, closer in on Clark, you can see the same area again but now there is no mark where there was one before.

Dichotic - S2-E9

Revealing mistake: When we see Ian split, his two selves are supposed to be looking directly at each other but they're really both looking slightly to the right. It's hard to focus when there's really nothing there. (00:15:45)

Phoenix

Visage - S2-E11

Audio problem: When Whitney is tearing up the bathroom, he throws the door and we don't hear it land. I saw this on the DVD, so it was not a transmission problem.

Dichotic - S2-E9

Continuity mistake: At the end of the confrontation between Clark and Ian regarding what he is doing to Chloe and Lana, Ian turns to his right to walk away from Clark. Cut to a different angle and now Ian is turning to his left as he walks away from Clark.

Ryan - S2-E8

Continuity mistake: Lex brings some comic books to Ryan at the hospital. He holds all of them with his left hand. He then shows 66 of the comic to Ryan and holds it with both hands. Cut to a different angle and now he is holding the comics with just his left hand once again.

Lineage - S2-E7

Continuity mistake: Lionel press conference about Lex's kidnapping only infuriates Rachel. She then picks up an axe and was about to swing at the tied up Lex when he manages to get his right leg free and kick Rachel backwards. As she falls backwards, we can see that she drops the axe off to her left side. Cut to a different angle but now the axe is over her head to her right side.

Red - S2-E4

Continuity mistake: While in the line to claim their class rings, Pete holds a folded piece of paper (probably his receipt). As Clark says: "I earned that money.", Pete starts to unfold the paper. Cut to a different angle as Clark continues: "Besides, my dad said." but now Pete is looking at a completely unfolded piece of paper.

Shimmer - S1-E10

Lana Lang: That's the thing about Clark Kent. He's not always there when you want him... But he's always there when you need him.

Trivia: Jerry Siegel, the co-creator of the Clark Kent/Superman character worked on a school magazine when he was at Glenville High School, Cleveland. The magazine was called The Torch - the same name of Smallville High's school magazine, edited by Chloe Sullivan and with Clark Kent as an on/off contributor.

Answer: In the comics, Krypto is a dog from Krypton who was used as the passenger in a test launch by Jor-El, Superman's father, before he launched the actual rocket taking his infant son to Earth. Krypto's capsule was involved in a mishap, sending it out of Kryptonian orbit and eventually found its way to Earth where he linked up with the young Clark Kent. Like any native of Krypton, Krypto has superpowers on Earth. In Smallville, the dog is a standard Earth dog who has been experimentally injected with kryptonite, giving him super-strength for a limited period of time, who escapes and links up with Clark (who suggests the name Krypto, ostensibly because of the dog's cryptic origins). It doesn't take too long for the dog's strength to fade, and the Kents decide to keep him, although they ultimately name him Shelby, after a dog that Martha Kent had in childhood.
