For Whom The Belch Tolls - S1-E14
Continuity mistake: Tim says something about Al's mother in-law but he was not married until the final season.
Deliberate mistake: When Jill turns off the light to Randy's room, she uses the same switch that Al used to activate the reverse laundry chute.
Continuity mistake: When Tim and Jill are out to dinner and Tim spots Mr. Leonard, he gets up and lays his napkin down flat on the table. When he returns to the table the napkin is bunched up in a ball.
Other mistake: If Jill moved the hotrod back in the garage after it was filled with snow, why isn't there a clean spot where she sat in it to drive it.
Continuity mistake: When Tim comes in the house, the car above the fireplace is not there but a few minutes later when the kids come in it is there again.
Revealing mistake: At the beginning during the Binford commercial, Tim falls off the ladder that they just set up and it's possible to see it's connected to the wall (so it will flip, but not fall over).
Tanks For The Memories - S5-E15
Factual error: Tim accidentally fires an M2 .50 machine gun while on a tank. Ricochets are shown sparking all over other tanks while people dive for cover. A) Bullets don't spark when they ricochet, and B) the M2 had a blank firing adapter installed; it couldn't have been firing bullets.
Dead Weight - S8-E24
Continuity mistake: At the end, Jill puts down her magazine to talk to Tim. The magazine is open, laying on her chest, but in a shot change, it is now closed.
Heavy Meddle - S2-E5
Continuity mistake: In the beginning of the episode, when Karen takes a Diet Coke from the refrigerator, she starts pouring it into a glass, and fills the glass halfway up. Cut to Jill for a second, then back to Karen, who is still pouring, but the glass is now only about a quarter full.
Continuity mistake: Near the end, Jill is serving sausage to Tim. She places three links on his plate, but in the wide shot, Tim's plate is shown with only two.
Continuity mistake: In the opening segment, as Heidi hands Tim his hot-air gun, he takes it with both hands, then lets go with his left so he's only holding the gun in his right hand. The angle changes, and Tim is once again holding the gun with both hands, before he once again removes his left hand.
Deliberate mistake: Tim babysits his 4-year-old niece in the season 7 episode Say Goodnight, Gracie, but in season 8, which takes place the following year, Gracie and her twin sister Claire have been aged up to around 8 years old.
Character mistake: Jill mentions that her parents were married for 50 years, and her mother corrects her and says it was 51 years and 7 months. However, the season 6 episode Jill And Her Sisters was about the aforementioned ladies planning their parents' 50th wedding anniversary, and the penultimate episode of the season, Taps, saw Jill's father die a few months after the former episode. Since only a few months had passed, there's no way Jill's parents could have been married for 51 years and 7 months.
Nothing More Than Feelings - S1-E7
Other mistake: In this episode, Jill drove the Chevy Nomad with the oil light on. This caused Tim to rebuild the motor. In the shot with Tim in the garage, working on the motor, a Ford motor is shown.
Adventures In Fine Dining - S1-E6
Visible crew/equipment: After Randy says 'Now you did' when at the table, the camera cuts to Tim putting his hand on his forehead and you can see a reflection of someone walking in the fireplace.
Character mistake: Al is holding a picture of a 1965 Mercury Comet but says it is a 1972 model.
Visible crew/equipment: When Tim chases the boys into the backyard, a boom mic is visible. (00:18:15)
Birds Of A Feather Flock To Taylor - S1-E20
Visible crew/equipment: When Tim walks into the bar a boom mic is visible. (00:12:10)
Visible crew/equipment: When Jill and Tim are talking in the garage when Tim stands up a boom mic is visible. (00:21:15)
Visible crew/equipment: When Jill and Karen are walking to the door a boom mic is visible. (00:10:15)
Answer: In seasons 1 and 2, each Binford tool had a unique model number, but from season 3 onward, they were all numbered 6100 as a running gag.
