Gilmore Girls

Show generally

Continuity mistake: In the episode when Jess arrives at Luke's, Luke explains to Lorelai that Jess' father walked out on his family two years ago. Jess is 17 at that point, which would make him 15 when his father left. In the episode where the father comes to see him, Luke asks him why he left when Jess was just a baby in diapers, and indicates that he hasn't seen him since.

Show generally

Continuity mistake: This was in season six in the Martha's vineyard episode (Valentine's day). Lorelai comes into the kitchen and we see a shot of Rory cooking. Next to her is the orange juicer. In the next shot, it is not there. It reappears as Lorelai is watching Rory cook and Rory reaches into a drawer and pulls it out.

Pilot - S1-E1

Continuity mistake: After Rory is walking with Dean, it goes to a shot of Rory and Lorelai eating at Luke's Diner from outside. Rory is wearing a light blue sweater and Lorelai has a black shirt on. Then it goes inside the diner and Rory is wearing a dark bluish/grey sweater and Lorelai is wearing a purple shirt. The first exterior shot is used from the very last scene of the episode. Pilot - S1-E1

Continuity mistake: In the opening scene, and all episode, Luke's diner is considerably smaller than the rest of the series. He has a shelf with random hardware and fishing items that is a window the remainder of the series.

Pilot - S1-E1

Continuity mistake: Lorelai walks into the kitchen and tells Sookie "she did it" and only has a brown bag in her hand. In the next shot she has a brown bag in one hand and the Chilton letter in the other.

Cinnamon's Wake - S1-E5

Continuity mistake: Kirk did not know who Miss Patty was. He said "I wasn't aware that you were THE Miss Patty." Later in the series, in Episode 5 of Season 6, at Miss Patty's Grand Recital, Miss Patty introduces Kirk's performance and says that he was "a talented pupil of mine". His performance was titled, "20 Years Ago Today", therefore Kirk was a student and should have known who Miss Patty was all along.

Suggested correction: That's exactly the point of the scene. Kirk knew that her name was "Miss Patty" but he didn't know she was THE "Miss Patty" about whom everyone was speaking.

They also refer multiple times to Kirk growing up in Stars Hollow. He would have known. In Stars Hollow, there couldn't ever be another "Miss Patty." That's just not how they roll.

Kiss and Tell - S1-E7

Continuity mistake: While Rory is at Doose's, when Dean surprises Rory and kisses her, in the first shot facing Dean his head is leaning to his left, but in the next shot Dean's head is now suddenly leaning to his right. (00:04:30)
