Boy Meets World

Band on the Run - S2-E8

Revealing mistake: When Cory and Shawn are holding band auditions, if you watch the guy that is shredding on guitar, you can see that although he is moving his fingers all over the fret board, his picking hand remains motionless, showing that he isn't actually playing and the sound was added in post production.

Rave On - S3-E8

Revealing mistake: When Amy steps into the living room and sees Reginald, you can see a plain white wall behind the door that leads into the kitchen, when you should be able to see the kitchen itself, which would suggest another set was placed there and they didn't move it for the filming of this scene.

City Slackers - S3-E11

Revealing mistake: During the montage of Eric and Frankie's game of pool, at one point Frankie hits two balls that spin towards a pocket in unison. When both balls come to a stop, you can see a dent in the green ball where a wire or other device would have been inserted to keep the balls linked together.

A Kiss is More Than a Kiss - S3-E14

Revealing mistake: When Cory puts the talking teddy bear that Topanga gave him in the trash compactor, the bear screams and Alan and Amy come down to investigate. Amy opens the trash compactor door and pulls out a bear crushed into a cube, but if you look closely, you can see the original bear still in the trash compactor unharmed.

Learning to Fly - S4-E22

Revealing mistake: While the girl who just broke up with her boyfriend is on the phone with the ex, she is throwing his stuff out the window. As she throws the last couple of CDs out the window, you can see the backdrop of the beach sway a little bit.

Heartbreak Cory - S5-E14

Revealing mistake: When Topanga is picking up the letter off the ground, you can tell the snow isn't real because it doesn't behave like real snow and run together when she scrapes the letter against it. It looks more like shredded paper being swept aside. (00:20:38)

No Such Thing as a Sure Thing - S7-E4

Revealing mistake: When the family is eating dinner, throughout the scene you can see Jack dabbing his fork into his mashed potatoes and raising the fork to his mouth with little to no potatoes on it in order to give the illusion that he is eating. (00:03:57 - 00:05:05)

You Light Up My Union - S7-E5

Revealing mistake: When Eric tells Cory and Shawn that the hot chocolates were $4, Cory looks up at the prices and says "that's the retail price." As the scene and the rest of the episode go on, if you pay close attention to the sign that has all the prices, hot chocolate is not an item.

They're Killing Us - S7-E6

Revealing mistake: When Eric picks up Cory to show him the "For He's A Jolly Good Fellow" dance, Cory screams that Eric is going to knock over the candles, upon which one of the candles on the desk is knocked over and sets fire to the curtains. If you look closely, neither Eric or Cory bump any of the candles nor the desk they are on, the candle just tips over on its own, suggesting an off-screen crew member used wire or string to pull the candle down. Suggested correction: This was definitely done for comedic effect. Note that the firemen in both scenes where Eric starts a fire don't even make the effort to usher bystanders out of the area to safety, and one of them slowly and needlessly chops away at doors with his axe.

Show generally

Continuity mistake: The age gap between Eric and Cory decreases as the series progresses. At the start of the show, Cory is in 6th grade and Eric is a high school sophomore, meaning they are four years apart, give or take a few months. By season 3, Cory is in 9th grade (confirmed by dialogue mentioning that Shawn, who is in the same grade as Cory, is 15 years old), and Eric is a senior, leading to an age gap of three years. The first episode of season 4 takes place a couple months after the end of season 3, with Eric and Cory returning from a summer Road Trip, but just two episodes later, Cory mentions that he is in 11th grade, while Eric is still barely out of high school, leading to an age gap of two years.

Me and Mr. Joad - S2-E4

Mr. Feeny: I realise that all you 7th-graders are delicate, adolescent flowers, just beginning your high school blooming. And so I say this with utmost sensitivity: take this test, or die!

Boys II Mensa - S1-E6

Question: When Mr. Feeny is talking to Cory in the cafeteria about his score on the IQ test, Feeny is shown purchasing a coffee from the vending machine. Are there actual elementary schools in the United States with coffee vending machines where prepubescent students have the ability to purchase a beverage more suited for younger adults and older? This isn't the faculty cafeteria mind you, because it's the same cafeteria the students are shown occupying throughout the first season. Seems a little irresponsible on the school's part to give students access to coffee.

Phaneron

Chosen answer: In the present day, with the United States abiding by more stricter school health laws, for the most part this wouldn't be in school cafeterias as many cannot even have carbonated beverage machines now. However, in the 90s when the show takes place, it wasn't unheard of for there to be coffee machines in the cafeteria of small schools where the teachers eat with the students as we see them do often in the show. The idea being that the cafeteria was small enough so a teacher or hall monitor could catch a student before they could drink the coffee.
