Truce or Consequences - S1-E8

Continuity mistake: When Diane finds out that Gino is not Sam's son, the towel that is on Coach's shoulder keeps changing position. In one shot it disappears then when the camera is facing him half is in font and half in back. When the camera is to his back most of the towel is in the back.

Endless Slumper - S1-E10

Continuity mistake: When Rick Walker is in the bar with Sam, he recognizes Coach as a former pitching coach for the Boston Red Sox. Yet in future episodes of Cheers, Coach is always identified as a former third-base coach.

The Boys in the Bar - S1-E16

Continuity mistake: When Sam tells everyone it's closing time, he asks Harry how he got into the bar whilst he is playing snooker. He replies and then places a white snooker ball two inches behind a blue ball. There is also a yellow ball about three inches to the right of the blue ball. In the next shot, the yellow ball has suddenly moved a foot away from the blue ball. The yellow ball returns to its original position three inches away from the blue ball in the next shot. What's Up, Doc? - S7-E18

Plot hole: At closing time, Cliff, Norm and Woody spontaneously decide to go to Cliff's house. Sam then enters the bar after his date at Melville's. Later in the scene, Rebecca asks Sam about the 'Three Stooges', to which Sam sarcastically replies that they went to Cliff's house. But how could he possibly know that since he entered the scene after they had already left.

One for the Road (3) - S11-E28

Question: When I streamed this episode, there were a couple of small scenes missing (Sam explaining that his cigars were a gift from Fidel Castro via Reggie Jackson; Sam kissing Rebecca goodbye). I know they used to cut scenes to cram in more commercials after the initial broadcast, but with a streaming service, you're not limited to a time slot. Why not air the whole thing?

Brian Katcher

Answer: They sometimes acquire episodes from syndicated reruns. The ones with the cut scenes. Sundance channel have some episodes of M.A.S.H. uncut.
