Plot hole: When both Gwen and Eve were in prison in January of 2005, Ethan was trying to get Theresa (whom Gwen had stabbed in the back) to drop the charge of attempted murder so that Gwen would be able to leave the prison. At the same time, Eve was being charged with three attempted murders, including that of Julian in 2001. But Julian loves Eve, and they have reconciled any differences they had three years ago, so why doesn't he also have the option to drop one charge of attempted murder?
Plot hole: During the party where it was revealed that Ethan is not a Crane and Theresa knew he wasn't, Gwen accidentally reveals she also knew. Even though he is upset with Theresa for keeping it a secret, Ethan says he can forgive her because he thinks she kept it a secret to protect him and that she never would have revealed the information to the tabloid. But Gwen says 'then why did she save the document on her lap top?' How did Gwen know the information was on Theresa's lap top? When she says that, it reveals that not only did she know that Ethan was not a Crane but that she knew Theresa knew, and that she was probably the one that sent the info to the tabloid.
Plot hole: On 11/18/03, Grace was looking at a construction paper scrapbook Jessica made in third grade. But where did the scrapbook come from? The Bennett house was sucked into Hell two years ago, and everything was destroyed.
Plot hole: On 9/27/04, Martin went to Sheridan's cottage and retrieved a gun that he said he had hidden there many years earlier, when the Lopez-Fitzgerald family lived there. But Beth burned Sheridan's cottage down in March of 2003, and it was completely rebuilt. So Martin's gun would not have been there anymore.
Plot hole: On 12/24/04, Beth was able to identify Mrs. Wheeler as Katherine Crane because of the heart-shaped birthmark on the back of her neck. Given that Katherine had extensive plastic surgery to hide her identity before she left Harmony, to the point that she is completely unrecognizable from facial features, why on earth would she leave such a distinctive marking untouched?
Plot hole: Charity's promises don't seem to carry much weight. In the summer of 2001, the talking tree told her that Miguel would drown in the river unless she gave him up, and she agreed. They stayed together, though, and were even engaged to be married in December of 2002. The engagement fell through when Kay turned out to be pregnant with Miguel's baby, but they got back together again the next year. Then, in the summer of 2003, Death offered Charity a way to save Kay's baby, Maria, who was near death. He would spare the child if Charity agreed to give up Miguel. So she agreed. And as of December, 2003, they are still together. It's like these promises just never happened.
Plot hole: In December, 2003, Theresa is fighting the Cranes for custody of her son, Little Ethan. Fox and Whitney overhear that Julian and Rebecca are paying off Judge Reilly to rule in favor of them at every turn. Fox and Whitney share the information with Ethan and Theresa, who tell Theresa's lawyer Woody. When Rebecca discovers that Ethan is secretly helping Theresa, and he has to stop, Woody says that the case is hopeless unless they can turn the tide of public opinion against the Cranes. But why does nobody think of exposing Judge Reilly's corruption, so that the case can continue on a fair playing field, where Theresa is sure to win?
Plot hole: Throughout the week of 5/31/04, Antonio and Hank looked for Sheridan and Luis. Antonio repeatedly stated to Hank, in no uncertain terms, his intention to kill Luis. This was no idle threat; Antonio freely displayed the gun he had, and he had previously shot at Luis. Hank is a police officer, and a much closer friend to Luis than to Antonio. So why doesn't he arrest Antonio for attempted murder?
Plot hole: On 7/21/04, Tabitha was using night vision binoculars to spy on Charity and Ivy, and she lamented that they did not enable her to hear their conversation. If she wants to hear them, then why doesn't she use her scrying bowl? It lets her see and hear conversations taking place anywhere in Harmony, and she has been consistently able to use it even without her full powers.
Plot hole: In December 2003, Rebecca and Julian are planning their wedding. Rebecca is blackmailing Julian into marrying her. Except, aren't they already married? Julian had his accidental marriage to Theresa annulled, and immediately married Rebecca (offscreen). Then it was revealed that Julian and Theresa had actually slept together, which nullified the annullment and Julian's marriage to Rebecca. But then it was further revealed the Julian and Theresa had never been married at all, which should have reinstated Julian's marriage to Rebecca. Instead, the previous wedding was never referenced.
Plot hole: On 10/4/04, Paloma received a call on her cell phone from her Aunt Maria. But earlier in the year, the only way that Paloma and other people in Puerta Arena could communicate with people in Harmony was via a very low quality telephone land line. And even if one of the Cranes had given Paloma a cell phone when she arrived in Harmony, how would her Aunt Maria have the number?
Plot hole: On 12/21/04, Paloma was selected to light the Christmas tree, and Sam told her that the town's longstanding tradition was for the chosen individual to invite her mother to light the tree with her. But Charity was selected for this honor in 1999, and she invited her boyfriend Miguel to light the tree with her, rather than her Aunt Grace, who was her guardian. Nobody even suggested that she choose a mother figure to stand with her.
Plot hole: In October, 2003, when Sheridan nearly drowned after being dumped off the boat, she found herself in a heavenly setting where her dead mother Katherine guided her "into the light." The next week, Death came and removed her spirit from her hospitalized body while she struggled against it. But wasn't she already dead?.
Plot hole: In April of 2006, Whitney disappeared from the convent very late at night. Later that same night, it was discovered that she was in Rome. But we never saw her get on a plane - only walking through catacombs with the monk the whole time - and even if she did get on a plane, there hadn't been nearly enough time for her to get to Rome.
Plot hole: There is no doubt that Luis must be the father of Sheridan's baby. Sheridan and Antonio did not make love at any point after July, 2002. When she regained her memory and remembered her love for Luis, she successfully held off Antonio until their wedding in December. Meanwhile, she did make love to Luis several times that summer and fall. Antonio never had a chance to even try to make love to Sheridan after the wedding, because he fell into a coma. He regained consciousness in March, 2003 at the same time that Sheridan learned she was pregnant. Why does she and everyone else act as if the baby could be either Antonio's or Luis's?
Plot hole: When J.T. Cornell's dead body fell out of the wedding cake on 12/28/06, Rebecca fell all over him, lamenting loudly to everyone about how much she loved him, how much he meant to her, and how amazing the sex was. (She was really just looking for his flash drive.) However, Rebecca and Gwen had spent the entire fall trying to prevent Ethan from catching Rebecca and J.T. together, because Ethan was convinced that if Rebecca and J.T. knew each other, then it would mean Rebecca and Gwen were lying about the tabloid, which they were. So Rebecca's behavior should have been a huge tipoff to Ethan, but instead he had no reaction at all to this.
Plot hole: Sheridan's and Paloma's respective ages do not make sense with respect to the Martin/Katherine storyline. In Martin and Katherine's flashbacks, we saw that Sheridan was a little girl, no older than eight, when they left, while Paloma was a newborn. So Sheridan is about eight years older than Paloma. But when Paloma appeared in Mexico, in May of 2004, she was still a high school student. At the oldest, then, she might be eighteen. Sheridan is about two years older than Ethan, and Ethan has been a practicing lawyer since the show started in July of 1999. So Sheridan must be at least thirty, making her more than twelve years older than Paloma.
Plot hole: When the doctor told Theresa that she was carrying twins, he told her that each baby had its own amniotic sac and that therefore they were fraternal. This was stated over and over again in the next few episodes. However, identical twins can also have separate amniotic sacs, as long as the egg divides early enough in the pregnancy. It is not uncommon.
Plot hole: A person can typically survive for only about five minutes without oxygen. It's not entirely clear how much time elapsed after Beth and Charlie dumped Sheridan into the water on 9/25/03, but we do know that before she resurfaced, the women returned to the dock, Luis took the same boat back out onto the water, and then returned to the dock as well and made it all the way to Beth's house. This must have taken much longer than five minutes. Yet, inexplicably, Sheridan - who had given birth to a baby just hours earlier - was still alive when she was brought to the hospital on 10/8/03.
Plot hole: When Sheridan wakes up in the hospital on 12/16/03, she doesn't remember what has happened to her. But she was fully awake when she fell off the cliff, and despite being shaken after she was pulled to safety, she walked off with Antonio and Luis so they could take her to the hospital. There is no point at which she lost consciousness, and there's no reason for her to be so confused.
Answer: I don't know about good not wanting them to be together, but I know the evil side doesn't want them together because once they sleep together, then Charity's powers will multiply, and she will be a driving force against the evil darkside.
