Continuity mistake: On 9/22/03, when Nicole first appeared, there was a close-up of her while she was talking to Fox, and she stepped down into the swimming pool (We heard the splashes and she moved downwards.). In the wide shot that immediately followed, Nicole was back on the concrete at the edge of the pool, and she again stepped down onto the first step in the water.
Continuity mistake: Early in the life of the show, around late 1999, Tabitha said that Charity would gain her full powers if she lost her virginity, and that those powers would be a thousand times stronger if she lost it to Miguel. Now, on 1/22/04, Tabitha says that Charity will only become a threat if she makes love to Miguel, and not if she has sex with someone else. Evidently, she won't come into her powers at all unless she loses her virginity to Miguel specifically.
Continuity mistake: On 11/7/03, Antonio finally realizes that Luis and Sheridan are in love and he has a series of rapid flashbacks of compromising situations in which he has caught them. One of those scenes is when Antonio almost saw Luis and Sheridan cuddling post-coitally in Sheridan's bedroom, but "luckily" went temporarily blind an instant before he looked in the window. So why could he see them together in his flashback?
Plot hole: How bad is the security at LA City Hospital? In October, 2003, not only did LaToya pull a knife on Whitney in the waiting room while Chad was also fighting with Puff Dog, but later Gwen nearly strangled Theresa to death in a fight that involved a lot of shouting and clattering of instruments being knocked to the ground. Where were the security guards and medical personnel while all of this was happening?
Plot hole: On 4/30/04, T.C. went into his shed and Liz was behind him and saw inside. T.C. just turned the knob and the door opened right up, so it definitely wasn't locked. But the shed is always locked; that's why nobody else has ever seen inside.
Revealing mistake: On 11/5/03, Luis is begging the divers to continue searching for Charlie and the baby he believes to be trapped with her in the submerged car. Beth and Mrs. Wallace are watching these events on a news broadcast that includes changing camera angles and dramatic closeups. It looks completely unlike a real news report.
Plot hole: Theresa goes to visit Chad and Whitney in LA the day after they moved there. Everybody acts as if they've already been there for a long time and Theresa has "finally" been convinced to visit them.
Continuity mistake: In July of 1999, Luis tried to convince Pilar to divorce Martin or have him declared dead, so that she could remove his name from the deed on their house in order to refinance. However, later flashbacks showed that the Lopez-Fitzgerald family lived in a cottage on the Crane grounds at the time of Martin's disappearance, which means that Martin's name wouldn't be on the deed of the house the family later moved into.
Continuity mistake: On 8/18/05, Noah protests Sam's offer to set up the garage apartment for him. He says that he'll just use his old room. But Noah wouldn't have an "old room" in this house, as the house he grew up in was sucked through a portal into Hell while he was away at college.
Continuity mistake: On 5/31/05, Martin refers to having been with Katherine for "more than twenty years." But he's only been with Katherine since they left Harmony together, which happened after the birth of Martin's youngest daughter Paloma. And Paloma graduated from high school about a year earlier, so she's not quite twenty herself, meaning Martin and Katherine have been together for at most nineteen years.
Continuity mistake: On 3/29/07, the Nightstalker sends Eve a video of her son being kidnapped, but the footage was actually of a dream of Eve's.
Revealing mistake: On 2/20/07, when Simone first approached Rae's dead body in the casket, the rise and fall of Rae's chest and stomach, due to the actress' breathing, was quite visible.
Factual error: Clarice, the social worker from Child Protective Services, stands around bickering with Theresa through many scenes on 12/10/03 and 12/11/03. In actuality, when a case worker is sent to remove a child from a home, he or she takes the child as quickly as possible and removes him or her from the premises at the first opportunity. This is done to avoid precisely the type of scene that occurred when Theresa arued her case with increasing desperation while Clarice just stood there with Little Ethan.
Continuity mistake: When Eve arrived home from LA on 11/28/03, she had changed her clothes since the last time she'd been seen. But Eve and TC weren't shown with luggage at any point in time; they went to LA on the spur of the moment to help Whitney. And even if she did have other clothes with her, there was never a chance for to change into them, since they went from the hospital straight to the airport.
Continuity mistake: On 3/17/06, Sam and Ivy had a conversation about Kay that was largely at odds with previous events and information from the show. In particular, they talk about how Kay pursued Miguel from a very early age. However, when the show began in 1999, Kay and Simone were in high school and their dialogue established in the very first episode that Kay had only very recently developed a romantic interest in Miguel. Furthermore, most of Harmony, including Sam and Miguel himself, didn't learn of Kay's interest until several years after that.
Plot hole: In May of 2004, Gwen had a job interview is Boston, and she was taking a taxi to the airport. The taxi definitely left Harmony, because when Gwen decided not to go to Boston, the driver told her when they were "back in Harmony." But that doesn't match up with what we know about the airports in the area. Harmony itself has an international airport. Sheridan and Luis flew from there to Mexico, and Theresa's flight to Australia was departing from Harmony. Theresa has also flown from there to Los Angeles. But when Sheridan and Luis flew to France several years ago, their flight left from Boston, and Boston was close enough to Harmony that they had driven there. So if Gwen is going to Boston, then she should either be taking a direct flight from Harmony, or driving straight to the city.
Plot hole: On 11/28/03, Sheridan come home from the hospital and is devastated to see her cottage full of teddy bears, because she believes that her baby has died. Antonio explains that the toys are still there because Luis didn't tell him that Sheridan would be coming home that day, and he's angry about it. But that doesn't make any sense at all. Sheridan disappeared just a few months into her pregnancy. When she was found (the night before the 11/28/03 episode takes place), she was no longer pregnant. So when and why did Antonio or anybody else go out and buy dolls for Sheridan's baby? It's been months since anybody anticipated a happy homecoming for mother and child.
Plot hole: During the summer of 2004, a single day in the lives of the characters lasted more than six weeks for the viewers. During the night of this day, far more happened than could ever really happen in one night. In the middle of that night, after Theresa's ordeal on the cliff (which started at night and must have taken several hours by itself), Luis and Sheridan flew to Mexico and had plenty of time to explore Puerto Arena and fight with Paloma. Just the flight to Mexico should have taken most of the night in the first place.
Continuity mistake: When Sheridan faked her own death in 2001 to escape from the drug cartel, she was buried alive. Timmy and Tabitha dug up the grave, and it was deep enough for Tabitha to stand in, upright, without her head reaching above the surface; it appeared to be the standard six feet deep. Then Julian had the grave filled in with cement after a token amount of dirt was shoveled in. But when the men broke apart the cement with their shovels, it was only about six inches thick. And when they finally dug through the cement and dirt, the coffin was also much closer to the surface than it had been before.
Plot hole: The Lopez-Fitzgeralds should be completely destitute by now (September, 2003). They were always supposedly very short on money, even when Pilar, Theresa, and Luis were all working. But Pilar and Theresa have been fired by the Cranes, and there's no Crane money coming to Luis or Antonio through Sheridan ever since she was kidnapped, plus Miguel is in college, and Theresa and Miguel each have a baby. Forget about Maria's hospital bills - How do they even have food on the table?
Answer: "Breathe" sung by Jane French.
