Dear Mildred - S4-E7
Revealing mistake: When the camera is in a close up on Dan the pilot, the sound is a chopper that is running full power, but you can tell that the main rotors are turning slowly to simulate flight.
Revealing mistake: In the closing scene, as the camera looks at the collected crowd, the camo net over the building poorly hides the edge of the "sky" background and the sound stage walls.
Revealing mistake: As Hawkeye calls for quiet in the officers' club, Henry pulls the tonearm off the record player, it comes away trailing a long wire behind it. Why would it even have a long wire to trail? After all, wire costs money too. It's not like the tonearm is designed to come off and be used remotely. My guess is: they lengthened it, so the shot could be taken several times without repairing the record player every time. Now, WHY they would do it that way and not simply use a dud record player is beyond me. (00:20:55)
Revealing mistake: In Margaret's tent, as the candle alternates between lit and extinguished, the light lags a second or two between on and off.
Revealing mistake: When the ambulance arrives in the compound at Christmas eve, it drives through the newly fallen snow, but it doesn't leave any tracks. Vehicles driving over a very thin snow cover always leave dark tracks, because the pressure instantly melts the snow just below the wheels. Even a person walking through the snow would leave dark footprints under these conditions.
Revealing mistake: During the melee at Rosie's, after Klinger gets his money and jewelry back from the cheats a guy is thrown through windows, and though we hear the sound of smashing glass we see the shreds of plastic fluttering.
Revealing mistake: When Margaret whistles for the "third wave" she places Winchester's French horn on the ground, and there are three shots facing the jeep as it closes in on the horn - in the first two shots the horn's normal, but in the last shot the horn's already semi-squashed before the jeep even runs over it.
As You Were - S2-E20
Revealing mistake: At the end, in the shot of Klinger singing while he's sewing a dress on his White Rotary sewing machine, as he's guiding the fabric forward it isn't actually under the machine's presser foot, which it needs to be in order to be stitched by the needle.
Revealing mistake: During the conversation between Potter and Klinger in the Mess tent, if you look past them you can see Margaret loitering, waiting for her cue to enter.
The Sniper - S2-E10
Revealing mistake: When the bottle of liquor is shot, there's no bullet hole in the basket that's right behind it, nor does the basket move from the impact.
As You Were - S2-E20
Revealing mistake: As Henry goes over to the expectant mother, a round takes out the generator. After the lights go out, there is a blue light outside the window, and also blue lights over the action. They can be seen in the reflections on the light sets over the tables.
The Sniper - S2-E10
Revealing mistake: Toward the end of the episode, Henry is talking to a general on the phone when the chopper is coming in. He's trying to tell the man that he can't hear him. As he continues trying to talk, he gives up, and hangs the receiver up on the skeleton's head. If you look, you can see the hook that was conveniently placed for the gag.
Peace on Us - S7-E2
Revealing mistake: Klinger says "The sun is going to ruin my comb-out", fingering his hair net. He has curlers under his hair net, but his hair is not around the curlers, they're just stuffed into his hair net. (00:01:10)
Dear Mildred - S4-E7
Revealing mistake: In the shot where the horse kicks in the door, there's actually two shots - a kick, a quick cut, another kick. If you look closely, you can see how the hoof of one of the horse-leg props breaks off during the first kick. The second kick is performed by one leg only. If you look really closely - and probably use the slow-motion function - you can even make out the hand of the one wielding the leg through the hole made in the first kick. (00:18:10)
The Trial of Henry Blake - S2-E8
Revealing mistake: As Klinger flies on his home made glider it's easy to tell that it's a bad composition shot. Also, nobody moving in the shot of him taking off stopped to notice him.
Revealing mistake: As Buzz is stopped at the tent door by Hawkeye and Trapper, the vertical edge of the "sky" is seen over the top of the hospital building, behind the camo net.
Revealing mistake: The sound of crew making an explosion with their mouth as a cue can be heard just before the actual audio of an explosion plays.
Where There's a Will, There's a War - S10-E16
Revealing mistake: When Hawkeye injects the adrenalin into the chest of the dying soldier at the battalion Aid Station, you can see that he is actually injecting into a piece of rubber foam soaked with prop blood. (00:13:25)
Revealing mistake: When Radar carries the field phone from Col. Potter's desk over to Hawkeye who is squatting in the corner, the phone doesn't have a phone line attached. It is an EE-8 Military Field Phone, which is a wired device, not a radio - even if Radar elsewhere says he has somebody "on the radio" when in fact he is using an EE-8. (00:17:35)
Revealing mistake: When Radar walks into the supply room, he carries four or five ammunition belts around his neck. Since he stows them in The Gun bin, it has to be assumed that they are not meant to be empty. If they were only half filled each, he would still be carrying something in the area of 60-100lb. However he moves with absolutely no visible strain and tosses the belts into The Gun bin with ease. Elsewhere in the series Radar is depicted as being none too strong. Clearly the magazine pouches were stuffed with something light and the effect carrying the real weight would have on Radar was overlooked. (00:06:45)
Answer: It is actually Cencompac for Central Command of the Pacific. It is like the headquarters for all military activity in the Pacific Region (Japan, Korea, Okinawa, etc. The newer version of that is United States Pacific Command (USPACOM).
EMTurbo
And the abbreviations were used mainly by the Navy. Especially CENCOMPAC.
