Continuity mistake: After Lieutenant Willis wakes up in the Swamp he gets dressed and puts his tie around his neck with its tail end on his right, but when it cuts to his closeup the tie's wide end is at his right side, then it switches again.

Continuity mistake: The C.I.D man's hat goes from straight to crooked between cuts in the swamp as he tries to leave.
Answer: The C-42 was a military variant of the Douglas DC-2. Very few C-42's were built, so it's questionable that Potter would specifically have seen that particular model, but, given his military background, it's not entirely unreasonable that he might use the military designation even when the aircraft in question is actually a civilian DC-2.
