Question: In one scene, Spike tells Riley that he personally knows Dracula. While I know it's possible Spike is lying, I'm curious: if it's true, does Dracula know Angel, as well?
Chosen answer: In the TV series, the answer is anything you want it to be since Dracula never appeared again. But, in 2006 (that's 6 years after the episode was broadcast) a serial comic book was released 'Spike vs Dracula' and Angel does indeed know Dracula. But, again, this isn't the TV show, it's a comic book based on the TV show. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spike_vs_Dracula_(Angel_comic)
Question: I'm still not sure on the Dawn idea. She's a key and the monks gave Buffy and her friends memories. But where was she supposed to be every episode before the one where she is revealed? And don't they remember that she was never "in the way" before? Maybe I just think its a stupid idea but I just don't understand where she was and how she came from nowhere.
Answer: This is explained throughout season 5 - Dawn was created by the monks during the season 5 episode "Buffy Vs. Dracula" (as evidenced by Joyce's comments about the house being quiet early on in the episode, before Dawn's appearance in the final moments) and they implanted false memories about her life up until now in her head and the heads of her friends. The reason we never saw her before then was that she hadn't been created yet. She came from nowhere - the Key was just a swirling ball of green energy before the monks turned it into Dawn. The reason no one notices her any more now is that, while the memories aren't perfect (Buffy mentions in "Real Me" that Dawn seems to be getting in the way more often lately), they are good enough to fool everyone enough to accept her.
Question: Anyone who can read lips, can you tell me what the doctor really says near the end of the episode, when Buffy hears him say "I have to lie to make you feel better"?
Answer: Apparently the doctor is saying "I think we can be almost positive about that". Taken from http://www.buffyguide.com/episodes/body/bodysyn.shtml.
Question: In this episode we see some of Spike's history - when he's human there's a bit where he walks down a street tearing up his poetry and bumps past Angel and Darla. We don't see their faces, but it's obviously them. I remember an episode of Angel when we see a flashback of Spike still human - can anyone remember the episode, and am I right in thinking that the bit we see is exactly the same moment in history, but we're focusing on Angel and Darla instead?
Chosen answer: This would be the episode "Darla", and, yes, it's exactly the same moment - I'm pretty sure that the same shot is used. In a nice bit of coordination, Darla is Angel episode 2.7, which corresponds exactly to Fool For Love, which is Buffy episode 5.7. - at the time, I think, the two series were shown on the same night, one after the other, making the two episodes, in effect, a double-length history lesson on the vampires of this particular bloodline. In an even nicer bit of coordination, this particular scene occurs at about the same point in each episode (around the 15-minute mark).
Chosen answer: Joyce invited him in offscreen. In a subsequent scene, Joyce mentions to Willow and Tara that she wouldn't normally invite a strange man into the house.
