Talking Guns - S4-E6
Other mistake: Gene Autry is chasing Mack Healy and his outlaw gang, who are using Jim Decker's house and mine as a base of operations. Healy gives Decker a rifle and tells him they're being followed by a "claim jumper." Healy says there are seven bullets in the gun. When Autry rides into view, Decker begins shooting. He fires eight shots. (00:18:10)
Other mistake: As Gene enters the sheriff's office, he and the door cast a shadow on the painted backdrop. (00:19:30)
Other mistake: José accidentally drops a cake containing hidden explosives. Pat accidentally drops a cake containing hidden explosives. Both scenes use the same close-up footage of an explosion. (00:00:23 - 00:01:05)
Continuity mistake: Gene is chasing a smuggler who is driving a horse and buggy with an unwitting Pat Buttram by his side. The smuggler drives past a roadside post marking the U.S.-Mexico border. In the immediate long shot of Gene chasing him, the post has disappeared. (00:22:05)
Revealing mistake: As Pat Buttram enters the office of the Bugle newspaper, he casts a shadow on the painted backdrop of the buildings across the street. (00:19:30)
Continuity mistake: Gene is chasing a stagecoach robber. Both men are on horseback and shooting at each other. When the stagecoach robber runs out of bullets, he puts his gun back in the holster. In the next shot, he again puts the gun back in the holster. (00:09:30)
Continuity mistake: George Evans and Reverend Parker are playing chess when they hear a knock at the door. George asks, "Now who could that be at this late hour?" Gene enters and says, "I hate to trouble you at this time of night." Gene says the Cattlemen's Association safe has been blown open and asks George to ride into town with him and determine how much money is missing. When they arrive in town, it is midday. (00:04:40)
Other mistake: Gene enters his ranch house and tells Pat, "I picked up a letter for you at the post office - special delivery." A special delivery letter would have been taken to the addressee upon receipt. It would not be left at the post office.
Horse Sense - S2-E15
Visible crew/equipment: As Gene and Pat ride into the yard of Elaine Castle's ranch, the shadow of a crew member can be seen on Gene's horse Champion. (00:07:40)
Melody Mesa - S2-E14
Other mistake: Gene is carrying a lantern in his left hand and walking through the tunnel of a mine. His shadow is on the wall to his left. (00:16:00)
Melody Mesa - S2-E14
Continuity mistake: The episode opens with a close-up of a poster saying "Elect John Nevers Sheriff" and the shadows of several branches across it. In the long shot, the branches are blowing in the wind. The opening shot is obviously a still photo. (00:00:38)
The Breakup - S1-E16
Continuity mistake: When Jeff Derrington arrives on horseback at his ranch, his wife and a baby carriage are in the yard. The carriage is covered by a white blanket. A close-up shows a baby boy in the carriage, even though Jeff never removed the blanket.
Continuity mistake: While Gene plays guitar and sings "Back In The Saddle Again," a close-up shows the chuck wagon cook waving his ladle back and forth in time with the music. In the following long shot, the cook is leaning over and dipping the ladle into a stew pot.
Other mistake: Pat, riding a wagon pulled by two horses and headed to Rock River, slows to look at a sign. The sign, shown in close-up, says "ROCK RIVER, 5 MI." An arrow points to the right - but that is the direction Pat is coming from. The arrow should be pointing to the left.
The Sheriff of Santa Rosa - S1-E23
Other mistake: Gene is chasing Ted Nolan, who is believed to have ties to a gang of cattle rustlers. Both men are on horseback. A long shot of Gene riding across a range is followed by a long shot of Ted riding across the same range so it appears Ted is chasing Gene instead of the other way around.
Other mistake: Lucy Lawrence enters the stage depot in Bentonville and introduces herself as the new schoolteacher. A young boy exclaims, "School! Phooey!" Mrs. Lawrence says, "Well, school isn't all reading and writing and sums, Edgar." She had no way of knowing his name.
