The Hereditary Principle - S4-E7
Continuity mistake: When Margaret and Charles start eating, her fork is pointing downwards in the angle shot from behind, but upwards in the front shots.
Continuity mistake: Opening scene is a 1947 flashback with Claire Foy giving her 21st birthday speech. When the camera is near, the black microphone is near her face with no sign, but in a long distant shot, there is a black BBC sign on top of it. (00:04:11)
Factual error: Michael Shea was not forced to resign ignominiously as Press Secretary in 1986. He actually left in 1987 and was appointed Companion of the Royal Victorian Order for his service.
Factual error: Diana's actual coif in her late 20s was much fuller at the top and the sides, and slightly longer in the back than this depiction.
Visible crew/equipment: When Bashir mentions the name of Jephson he leans backwards and a white lighting screen gets reflected on his lenses. (00:12:44)
Continuity mistake: When the actress rehearses in the jet, after Dodi says "your husband is in for 15 years" her right hand swaps between extended or not between shots.
Continuity mistake: In the jet, when the actress rehearses and throws the script on the bed the sheets swap between wrinkled and ironed between shots.
Continuity mistake: After the actress throws the script on the bed, the script keeps changing position in every shot.
Audio problem: Diana talks to one of her sons, who's hiding inside playing Street Fighter II. You hear the sound effects playing that belong to the characters either Ryu or Ken: "Tatsumaki" (Hurricane kick), and "Shoryuken" (Rising dragon fist). When the shot cuts behind the son, you see the characters of Blanka (green guy) and E. Honda (the sumo wrestler). Neither of those characters can do either of those attacks, and there wasn't time for him to switch which character he was playing as. (00:23:39)
Continuity mistake: When Prince Charles reads a letter during Camilla's birthday, the paper he holds with both hands is suddenly held with just one. (00:29:07)
Continuity mistake: S6E1 In Paris, when Dodi tells his girlfriend they'll soon be in Malibu, her fringe is neatly brushed. A shot later, her fringe is parted.
Continuity mistake: When Diana holds the "Paris next week?" card, her index finger is behind the card but on top of it when the shot changes.
Continuity mistake: During the royal team meeting to talk about the website, the woman who yawns is staring at the computer with both hands on the desk, but holding a sheet of paper in the following shot.
Factual error: The swan official is described as the Warden of the Swans. The official depicted is actually the Marker of the Swans, a different post which wears the uniform shown.
Factual error: Peter Townsend is depicted in 1945 wearing the ribbons of the DSO (which he won in 1941) and the DFC (which he won in 1940), but not the rosette indicating a bar to the DFC (which he also won in 1940) and the 1939-45 Star (which he would have been awarded in 1943).
