Factual error: The Columbia paramilitary is seen throughout the 2nd season carrying M4's. The M4 configuration of the M16 was not available during the period Norcos took place. In one seen in fact an M4 has an EOTech optic mounted on it...backwards. Not only is the optic backwards, EOTech was not founded until the late 90's or early 2000's.
The Sword of Simón Bolivar - S1-E2
Factual error: Murphy is traveling with his wife by plane to Colombia from Miami. The aircraft belongs to US Airways, an airline that has never flown commercially to Colombia. Later in the same scene Murphy tells his wife that they must be flying over the Amazon. That region is at the extreme south of the country bordering Peru and Brazil. Some scenes later the couple is at immigration at Eldorado (the name is visible in a window), the main airport of Bogota, the capital city which is located at the center of the country. The Amazon is a couple of flight hours away due southeast so it would be ridiculous to overfly the river or region to land in Bogota. (00:02:00 - 00:03:00)
Suggested correction: Murphy is no expert on Colombian geography. At this point he has never been to the country, much less understand if he was flying over the Amazon.
Factual error: When Peña asks for a trace on Fernando he throws a note on a computer keyboard. It has a windows 2012 logo on it. It is the early 90s for this episode. (00:12:10)

Factual error: While attempting to capture one suspect the police go to the island Curacao. The island is one of the three "ABC" Dutch Mediterranean Islands - Aruba, Bonaire, and Curacao. The map incorrectly labels Aruba as Curacao. (The islands left to right are actually Aruba, Curacao, Bonaire). (00:09:10)
