Continuity mistake: When Jessup is driving looking for Hal and the others, fields are shown through the drivers' side window, but when the scene cuts, Jessup is suddenly driving through the middle of a housing complex.

Continuity mistake: During the fight scene in the diner between Jessup and Vincent, the spore case is about eight feet from Hal, but when he reaches to pick it up, it is only about three feet from him.

Continuity mistake: When Hal picks up The Spores case and begins to walk away with it, a water heater is behind him. When the scene cuts to a wider angle he is no longer in front of the water heater but in the middle of the room.

Continuity mistake: In the closeup of Tom Jessup's left hand grasping The Spores' case handle, all four fingers and thumb are wrapped around the handle (knuckles up) but the next long shot shows him holding on to the handle with his first three fingers (knuckles down).

Continuity mistake: When Tom Jessup grabs Vincent as he tries to steal the spore case, the waitress can be seen through the double door windows watching the action, but the scene then cuts to the dining area and bar, then the waitress turns to watch after hearing the commotion between Jessup and Vincent.

Audio problem: When the flower delivery van flies off the asphalt road and into the dirt, a tires-screeching-on-asphalt sound is heard as it hits the dirt before rolling over.
