Trivia: Harrison Ford learned about the film and got the role through Fred Roos, who was the casting director of the film. At the time, Ford was working as Roos' personal carpenter.

American Graffiti (1973)
Trivia: Lucas actually had sort of an affinity for mistakes in this film. There were several instances where he would keep filming shot after shot until the actors would mess something up. Such as when when the guy leaves the liquor store and tosses the bottle to Terry, he stumbles and just about loses the bottle. Or when Terry goes back to the car, Debbie asks him "Did you get it? Did you get it?" but she noticeably flubs the lines up. Or even when the actor who plays Terry couldn't properly handle the motor scooter and has a small accident. These are instances where Lucas had many perfect takes of these scenes, but he kept the ones with mistakes in them to give the movie a more realistic feel.

American Graffiti (1973)
Trivia: When Terry is being introduced, he drives up on his scooter, and has quite a bit of trouble parking it. This is because Charles Martin Smith actually didn't know how to drive a stick shift. The small accident he has is real, you can see him crash, look up towards the camera (at Lucas), and continue the scene. Lucas motioned for him to continue, because the crash looked so interesting.

Factual error: The Citroen 2CV that Kurt drives is a 1972 model. ten years after the film takes place.

American Graffiti (1973)
Continuity mistake: When Falfa's Chevy flips over, we can see that it has no fuel tank at all in it. However, in the next shot the car now has a visible fuel tank, and it explodes.

American Graffiti (1973)
Factual error: At the beginning of the movie, a red first generation Mustang coupe is parked across the street from Mel's drive-in. Mustangs didn't come out until 1964.

American Graffiti (1973)
Continuity mistake: Terry wears blue jeans throughout the whole film. Except when Debbie starts talking to him about how she likes tuck and roll interior, he gets out of his car and all of a sudden he's wearing khakis.

American Graffiti (1973)
Continuity mistake: After Falfa crashes his chevy, he walks away from the crash with his hat in his hand. In the next scene John is holding the hat and hands it back to him.

American Graffiti (1973)
Continuity mistake: Just as John was about to stop his car to let Carol in for the first time, he passed a dark color 4-door sedan parked at the curb. Then Carol runs around to get into John's car, the dark sedan disappeared and there is a blue 1955 Plymouth in its place.

Full Metal Jacket (1987)
Factual error: At one point Joker is doing chin ups, with Hartman motivating him. Joker does three chin-ups, but not a single one of them was done properly. You're supposed to lock your elbows all the way out on the way down, and your chin needs to clear the plane of the bar. Joker never locks his arms out, barely gets over the bar. In reality Hartman would have been all over him about this, drill instructors are notoriously strict about proper technique.

Mad Max 2 (1981)

Continuity mistake: Throughout the whole film, Max's interceptor has windshield wipers attached sometimes, and sometimes it doesn't. Probably because they were using more than one interceptor for the movie.

Mad Max 2 (1981)
Trivia: You might have to look close, but the Gyro Captain's copter is completely covered with pornographic pictures. It took many viewings for me to notice this. Apparently he's very sexually motivated, as later in the movie he complains that the only thing he really misses from the old world is lingerie, and the only reason he joins the escapees in the end is because he wants to be with the cute blond girl.
Suggested correction: Completely covered is an exaggeration. There is one picture on one of the rear fins. Also, that's an assumption about his motivation to join the escapees. It could just as easily be said that he's found people who accept him, and even make him their leader. That could be very welcome to someone who's been alone for so long.

Mad Max 2 (1981)

Continuity mistake: After his crash, Max is hiding behind a rock. He draws his shotgun out, and you can see he has no glove on his right hand. Then the interceptor explodes, and he shields his face with his right hand, which now has a glove on it.

Mad Max 2 (1981)
Trivia: When The Humungous opens his gun case, you can see a skull and crossbones insignia that looks just like a Nazi "Totenkopf" badge that SS soldiers wore on their cap. There's also a photo in the case that appears to be a family picture, with the father in a Nazi outfit (perhaps Humungous' father, or even he himself).

The Goonies (1985)
Continuity mistake: Right after Troy is humiliated at the wishing well, the movie cuts to a television food program, with Sloth's reflection visible in it. The problem is that Sloth's face is noticeably different in this reflection than the rest of the film. For instance, his left eye is only a bit lower than his right eye now, instead of it being considerably lower like it usually is.

Mad Max 2 (1981)
Trivia: One of the more spectacular stunts in the film was a terrible accident. When one of the raiders is on a motorcycle, he hits a car, flies off the bike, hits his legs on the car and starts cartwheeling through the air. This was a real accident, the intended stunt was to just have the stunt man fly over the top the car without hitting it. Instead the stuntman hit his legs on it, but it just looked so spectacular that they kept it in the movie. The stuntman broke his leg badly, but survived.

Mad Max 2 (1981)
Continuity mistake: When the rear window of the semi is smashed, you can see in the very next shot that the chain of Wez's ball mace is already hanging from the ceiling to Max's right, long before Wez even starts swinging it and leaves it hanging there after he is killed.

Revealing mistake: When the gyro captain crashes, the rotor on the craft is already bent before it hits the ground.

Mad Max 2 (1981)

Continuity mistake: When Max's interceptor rolls down the hill, on its last roll you can see one of the fuel doors pop open (which should actually set off the booby trap and cause the car to explode). When Toadie arrives to look at the tanks, both the doors are now closed.

Mad Max 2 (1981)

Continuity mistake: When Max sneaks up on the raider who's sitting at the wrecked dune buggy with the dying woman and man, look at the crossbow on the ground. At first it's unloaded. Then when the raider sees Max, he reaches for it and it's suddenly loaded and ready to fire.
