Continuity mistake: When Dr. Gordon says that one of his experiments caused Caterpie to become large, Ash is behind a violet building, but in the next shot, he is behind an orange building and a violet one. Also, May is to the right of him, but in the next shot, she vanishes.(00:11:21)
Continuity mistake: When Caterpie emerges from the laboratory, Brock and Max have their bags, but in the next shot, they disappear. Also, May is behind Brock, but in the next shot, she is in front of him. Additionally, Dr. Gordon is in the back of the group, but in the next shot, he is in the front of it.(00:09:16)
Continuity mistake: When May says, "No, Max, it's the wonderful scent of the big city," Pikachu's left forepaw is not only on Ash's hoodie, but in next shot, it is. Also, there is no gap between Ash and Brock, but in the next shot, there is.(00:00:12)
Continuity mistake: When May says, "It looks like Treecko might be feelin' a little weird around all our other Pokémon," there is a tree nearby, but in the next shot, there is not.(00:00:40)
Continuity mistake: When Caterpie goes to the source of the suspicious activity, it faces Zander, but in the next shot, it faces away from him. Also, Ash's marks go from being absent to being present.(00:05:41)
Continuity mistake: When two people stop on a bridge to watch Caterpie, the man with the blue jacket has his body facing away from Caterpie, but in the next shot, it faces towards it.(00:09:40)
Continuity mistake: When Ash asks Professor Oak if Krabby is all right, Professor Oak's coat goes from white to red with the pot going from brown to grey. Additionally, the background changes design between shots. Furthermore, a bowl, a ladle, and a spoon go from being present to vanishing. Moreover, the camera view goes from being aligned with Professor Oak to not with his left-hand going from being lowered to being raised.(00:08:51)
Continuity mistake: When a boy says, "You're the man, Damian," Damian's eyes are open with his arms crossed with his left arm over his right and his head not turned, but in the next shot, his eyes are closed with his right arm over his left and his head turned. Also, the arrangement of the Poké Balls on his table changes between shots. Additionally, Damian has a bag and does not have hair under his bridge, but in the next shot, the bag is absent and hair is under it. Furthermore, the smile of the boy to the left of him changes between shots.(00:06:18)
Continuity mistake: When Ash suggests that May could check the date for the contest earlier, the buildings on the side change between shots. Also, the left side of his hat constantly changes from red to black.(00:00:03)
Continuity mistake: When showing the inside of the store for the first time on the next day, there is no window two planks away from the left of the door, but in the next shot, there is.(00:13:50)
Continuity mistake: When the camera pans to show Chimecho and Munchlax on beds for a second time, Munchlax's feet are mistakenly coloured blue instead of yellow.(00:11:24)

Continuity mistake: When Nurse Joy says that on some occasions, Pokémon are not the ones who need to recover after matches, Misty goes from having a gap between her and Ash to not having one.(00:02:13)
Continuity mistake: In the second part of May's flashback of what Grace said, she says, "The one thing to remember above all else and without it you'll never win. Use the power of your Pokémon completely," but in the shot where this takes place, she says, "The one thing to remember above all else is that you'll never be able to win until you can use the power of your Pokémon completely."(00:15:21)
