Continuity mistake: When "Wallace McNurty" mentions the "lunchtime drinking" the two workers in front of him are increasingly distant from each other at the cut, and the bearded one has his hands on hips and not down his sides. (00:18:10)

Continuity mistake: For the first episodes (minus the plot), the opening of the series features the Ferrari with two different license plates. The opening shot shows the ROBIN-1 vanity plate that is in every episode but not in the most well known version of the opening (with the iconic Mike Post theme music used in all the other seasons), and the following shows the license plate from the pilot.

Continuity mistake: Magnum asks Higgins "In the meantime, you're just gonna sit there sipping brandy, being terribly British?" Higgins answers "Yes!", cut to Magnum, hands crossed, then cut to Higgins finishing his glass, and then, all of a sudden and with the clock ticking all the way through in continuity, Magnum too is sitting there with a glass of brandy in hand. Continuity mistake: Magnum approaches Vivian and Higgins' table carrying an oar; during this wide shot the table has direct sunlight all over, but in other camera angles they are in the shade. (00:10:55)

Continuity mistake: Higgins outside the British shop is stammering. He says "But I..." and a blonde with sunglasses and a hair clip quickly walks behind him - nobody was walking towards them from that direction in the establishing shot. When a wider angle is again presented, there she is; that woman is approaching from that same direction. (00:07:15)

Continuity mistake: Magnum sits on the couch's arm, by one of the sisters who is holding Higgins' book in her lap. On her lap, under the book, there's the handkerchief she used when she was having tea. In the closer angle, there's no hankie, while Madge's is open wider. (00:18:20)

Continuity mistake: Higgins mocks "Tommy", who in close-up rips the page of the notepad where he scribbled down the partial license plate. In a wider angle a few seconds later into the verbal exchanges he rips the page again. (00:18:05)

Continuity mistake: Magnum escorted the two old ladies at the Fointanbleu Residence. The one in red, Madge, has her hand on Jeanie's arm when she says they were actresses, but she kept her hands to herself in the previous shot. (00:07:25)

Continuity mistake: Magnum creates a Rodin-esque stack of beer cans. His store manager lambasts him, and when they are looking at his creation, it looks different already - the can he put on top as finishing touch is missing, immediately noticeable. (00:02:15)
