Deliberate mistake: There's a bizarre editing gaff in the opening fight of the Director's Cut. At one point, Fasil's sword vanishes (for no real reason) and he starts to do backflips. The scene then cuts away, and when it cuts back, he's suddenly running and has his sword again. A few shots later, he's suddenly doing backflips and has lost his sword again. (It's meant to be Fasil doing the flips.) The editing makes absolutely no sense. It's like they somehow mixed up two different scenes during editing.

Buffy The Vampire Slayer (1997)
Deliberate mistake: When Xander ducks under the caution tape to catch up to the group of students at the beginning, as the shot is about to cut, judging by his casual walking pace, he should maybe be 10 or so feet ahead of Buffy and Willow. When the camera cuts, he's suddenly at least 30 feet away. It's probably edited that way for time reasons (to quicken the pace of the scene rather than show him walking an extra 10 seconds), but still a minor mistake.

Buffy The Vampire Slayer (1997)
Deliberate mistake: When Willow goes into her dark bedroom, she turns on her lamp. Somehow, her tiny lamp illuminates the entire room and also casts a shadow behind her, even though it's behind her. Clearly, when she turns on the lamp, they also turned on some set-lights in front of her to make the room bright enough for filming. There's also something else that gives it away-when she turns on the lamp, the studio lights come on a split-second later - just enough that if you look closely, you'll notice the delay.

Buffy The Vampire Slayer (1997)
Deliberate mistake: When Buffy, Xander and Giles try to "delete" Moloch from the computer, watch the computer screen as she sits down. There's already a folder labeled "Willow" on the desktop. Buffy then types in the word "Willow" to search for the document (without clicking on any sort of search bar, so typing it would do nothing), then says something along the lines of "That's probably it" and proceeds to click on the "Willow" folder... that was already on the desktop. The entire scene makes no sense.

Happy Death Day 2U (2019)
Deliberate mistake: When Tree turns on the magnetic medical equipment, it's somehow strong enough to yank a big, heavy wheelchair up and pin Gregory in only a split-second, but not strong enough to instantly pull the screwdriver out of Tree's hand? Obviously this was done so Tree could have a cool moment where she lets go of the screwdriver and it impales Gregory... but it makes no real sense.
Suggested correction: It does make sense. The wheelchair wasn't secured and contained lots of metal, so it was immediately pulled towards the scanner. The screwdriver had a lot less metal, and Trew was holding it very tightly, and she knew what was about to happen, so she should strengthen her grip even more, allowing her to keep hold of it.
Preposterous. Depending on how they're set, MRI magnets can yank entire hospital beds clear across the room, and even once killed a man by setting off a concealed gun he was carrying. There's no way she was holding onto that thing.

The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor (2008)
Deliberate mistake: When Alex and Lin are secretly watching Rick and Evie being forced to open the Emperor's coffin at the museum, they are speaking to each other at normal volume. However, given how close they are to the bad-guys, there's absolutely, positively no way they wouldn't be heard. (Obviously it was done this way so that the audience could hear their dialogue, but it's still a mistake).

The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor (2008)
Deliberate mistake: There's a very strange editing error in the final fight between Rick and the Emperor. After the scene cuts to Alex waking up, it cuts back to the fight. The Emperor hits Rick with a right hook, and when the camera cuts to Rick reacting, his head understandably flops to the right. But then the Emperor hits Rick with another Right hook... and when the camera cuts to Rick's reaction, his head flops to the left, in complete defiance of physics.

The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor (2008)
Deliberate mistake: When the Dragon Emperor is controlling the elemental orbs in the final battle, Alex shoots them, surprising the Emperor, who turns and looks at him. Except if you pay attention, there's absolutely no way Alex would have been able to shoot the orbs from the angle he's at. He's standing directly behind the Emperor, so he would have had to have shot through him to hit the orbs. And you can see plain as day that the Emperor is not hit by any bullets. It's a cool visual, but it makes no sense.

Mortal Kombat: Annihilation (1997)
Deliberate mistake: When Jade is killed, Kahn is holding her up by her neck about a foot above the ground as the monster appears behind her. Right before the monster bites down and eats her, Kahn lets go over her neck... and she just sort-of floats in place. She should have fallen back down given she was being held above ground. (In all likelihood, the actress was standing on a box or something to make it look like Kahn was holding her up.) This happens a bit quickly, so it can be hard to catch.

The Legend of Zorro (2005)
Deliberate mistake: In the beginning of the film, the horse-drawn carriage driven by McGivens is able to crash through a brick pillar and keep moving forward... yet just one minute later in the scene, it's flipped and destroyed by a rope attached to a flimsy wooden spool. There's no consistency to the strength of the carriage.

Mortal Kombat: Annihilation (1997)
Deliberate mistake: During the opening fight between Rayden and Kahn, at one point Kahn is kicked and lands on the ground in front of his generals. A few seconds later, he is hit and lands on the ground again... in the exact same spot, landing in the exact same position. (Watch for the somersault he does.) It's clear these are two different takes of the same stunt. It wouldn't necessarily be a mistake, except when he gets hit the second time, he flies backwards a bit, so it makes no sense for him to land in the exact same spot as before. Sloppy editing.

Army of Darkness (1992)
Deliberate mistake: During the final battle, when Ash is driving around in his car with the giant fan mounted to the front mowing down enemies, some of the evil skeletons he runs into aren't moving at all for several seconds before being hit. This reveals that the were just props designed and set-up to be run over for the effect. Additionally, the first two sets of skeletons he chops up in the fan are the exact same skeletons shot from different angles. (You can tell from the distinct way the one skeleton's arm comes off and ends up on the car's front).

Child's Play (2019)
Deliberate mistake: When the creepy building handyman falls onto the table-saw, it slices what appears to be his leg (or possibly arm) clean off. Except the saw-blade wasn't big enough to go right through his entire thigh (or upper arm for that matter), though... it only sticks up a few inches.

Child's Play (2019)
Deliberate mistake: In the handyman's room, we see he has cameras secretly set up in the various apartments to spy on neighbors. But the placement of the camera spying on Mrs. Norris' dining room is kind-of ridiculous. It appears to be sitting out in the open on her dining room table. Sure, the handyman is a pervert, but there's no way he could get a camera onto such a spot without it being totally obvious.

Repo! The Genetic Opera (2008)
Deliberate mistake: When Rotti is dying, when Luigi and Pavvi try to run towards him (before he points the gun at them), you can briefly see Pavvi's mirror sticking out from behind the corner for a second right before they run into frame, revealing that the actors were waiting for their cue to go.

Repo! The Genetic Opera (2008)
Deliberate mistake: If you look closely, you can tell the shot of Shilo riding the elevator to the top of GeneCo tower is the same shot from the beginning of the movie (when Rotti rides the elevator down to the ground), only reversed. The distinct camera angle and movement gives it away.

Superbad (2007)
Deliberate mistake: When young Becca picks up the drawing that young Seth made, in the first shot, as she flips it over to look at it, you can faintly see the pen-marks through the paper, and they are not the same as in the following close-up shot, when we see the actual drawing. In the first shot, they seem to be a grouping of rectangular shapes, whereas in the second shot, it is obviously a large drawing of a penis. They had to use different pictures due to child labor laws that wouldn't permit the young actress from seeing the actual picture, and so a hand-double was used for the close-up shot. (00:17:15)
