A Dog's Journey (2019)

Question: After CJ went to the party with Shane, the police arrest CJ and let the others get away. It's kind of ridiculous. Why would they catch her only?

Bunch Son

Answer: Just because they only caught her doesn't mean that they didn't get anyone else. She was there at the party so she may have been able to tell the police who all was there that night or give descriptions of people.

Jigsaw (2017)

Question: Why was Edgar asking for Halloran on the roof? Was that his game where he had to kill Halloran or trigger the remote?

Bunch Son

Answer: Spoilers: As revealed at the end, Halloran is a crooked cop who has a past connection to Edgar. Edgar therefore wanted him there, since he presumably assumed Halloran could help him out of this jam. It's also possible that Edgar's tape instructed him to find Halloran, but we can't know this for certain, since it wasn't on-screen.

Jigsaw (2017)

Question: Why did Anna get so mad over Ryan killing Carly? If it were not for him, all of them would have died. All of them were almost dying when Ryan injected Carly. But after they were all release from the chains, Anna got so angry with Ryan and attacked him and said to him "Fucking asshole." It turns out that she killed her baby just because her baby didn't stop crying in the past. So she is not the type of the person who cares about people's lives very much.

Bunch Son

Answer: She's just trying to maintain a moral high-ground over Ryan. Plenty of people do that all the time, especially in stressful situations.

Question: At the beginning, why did Grindelwald let Spielman live by dropping a wand off the carriage and letting Spielman grasp that wand?

Bunch Son

Answer: From a story standpoint, Spielman is the only person who could've identified the blood pact as belonging to Grindelwald. Since he appears alongside Newt and the others at the end of the film, I think we're supposed to believe he was the one who identified it after the Niffler stole it from Grindelwald - meaning him surviving the escape sequence was written in so he could do that. From a character standpoint, Grindelwald likely wanted there to be a public account of how he'd escaped custody, so that people would be more in awe of his power than if no-one had lived to tell the tale.

Answer: There's no explanation about why he did this. It probably just amused him to watch Spielman frantically trying to save himself.

Question: At the beginning, President Picquery mentioned that they removed Grindelwald's tongue, but the tongue of Abernathy, who was disguised as Grindelwad, looks like a snake's. It doesn't look like it was cut off. Why is that?

Bunch Son

Answer: Grindelwald gave Abernathy the forked tongue after the escape sequence, as a reward for his loyal service and to replace the one Macusa had cut out.

Question: In the magazine, Spellbound which Queenie brought to Newt's house in London, the headline reads "Newt Towed." What does towed mean?

Bunch Son

Chosen answer: It's a simple misread, since the letters are so close together. It reads "Newt to wed," announcing his "engagement" to Leta.

Question: Newt and Tina visit the records room located at the French Ministry of Magic. As soon as they meet with Leta who came to see her family tree, the worker at the records room suddenly walks over to them with Matagots and attempts to attack them, including Leta. Why?

Bunch Son

Answer: Newt and Tina were in the archive room illegally. When Leta, who is a Ministry employee, happened to discover them there, she chose to help them escape, which was breaking the law.

raywest

Question: Why did Grindelwald let his acolytes steal the family tree of Leta Lestrange and place it at Pere Lachaise? What's the point? If he wanted Credence or Leta to read it, he could have simply given it to them, right?

Bunch Son

Answer: Grindelwald was using it to lure Credence to the Pere Lachaise where the rally was being held.

raywest

Question: Why does Nagini stand with Newt, Tina, Theseus, Jacob and aurors at the bridge of Hogwarts? I don't understand why she joins them without Credence who was her only friend at that time?

Bunch Son

Answer: She would stand with them to oppose Grindelwald and possibly hopes that Creedence can somehow be saved.

Dawn of the Dead (2004)

Question: Ana gets in the bus to get Michael. He shows a chainsaw to her. Ana tells him that might be the most romantic thing anyone's ever shown her, then Michael says, "I'm trying here." Sorry for a silly question, but what does he mean by that? Try what? (01:20:45)

Bunch Son

Answer: He's returning her sarcastic comment about being romantic with a sarcastic apology. "I'm trying here", as in he's trying to be romantic and he's sorry it's not coming out the way he intended. He doesn't actually mean it, the two are simply trying to break the tension with humor. Their rapport is somewhat flirtatious throughout the film, they have an attraction that might have developed more naturally were the world not ending in a zombie apocalypse.

BaconIsMyBFF

I actually took it that Michael was saying he's just trying to do his best in general.

Dawn of the Dead (2004)

Question: Right before Frank dies and turn into a zombie, he said to Kenneth, "You want every single second." What does he mean by that? (00:55:35)

Bunch Son

Chosen answer: I interpreted it as a reflection on his life and the lives of all those around him as his life drained from him. And that reflection is that as people we are always chasing something - goals, desires, a nice new car, a better job, a family with kids - but we are always left wanting something more. It's what keeps us alive and moving forward. As he dies, everything becomes illuminated and he realises this truth. I think it could also mean that he wanted to live every single second to experience as much as he could in life. But I prefer my first interpretation, so that's how I picture it.

Answer: I interpreted it as meaning a person wants every possible second to remain as a human.

raywest

Didn't it sound weird? He could put it in another way. A natural way.

Bunch Son

I'd agree that is sounds weird, but this is written by a screenwriter, and they often use embellished and unrealistic dialogue for a more dramatic or emotional effect.

raywest

Answer: I assume this is a very old question, but I always thought it meant with your kids. He wanted to wait to be killed until after he turned because he was all his daughter had left. So he wanted every single second with her, but it could just mean as human as mentioned here.

Question: When Thomas and the others are trying to escape the station, they face a masked man as Thomas opens a door. Thomas shoots a stun gun at him. This masked man looks like he was going to save them. Who is this guy? (00:27:20 - 00:27:50)

Bunch Son

Answer: He is one of the guards that works in the facility.

Question: Thomas, Newt and Minho jump out the window. Failing to catch them, Janson tells his man to drop the net. What does he mean by that? (01:29:55)

Bunch Son

Continuity mistake: There are six girls and Sister Charlotte and Father Massey in the bus heading for Mullins' house. When it cuts to the bus which is seen from a distance, two or three girls are suddenly missing through the windows. (00:09:35)

Zootopia (2016)

Question: With the help of Assistant Mayor Bellwether, Judy and Nick look at the traffic cam where two timberwolves took Manchas away with them. How did the wolves know Manchas went savage and where to find him?

Bunch Son

Answer: The wolves were spread out and checking the areas for any animals who gone savage until they end up finding one.

Answer: They most likely were checking the video cameras for when an animal turns savage.

Kung Fu Panda 2 (2011)

Question: When Mantis keeps the wolf from firing the weapon, he shouts, "Fear the bug!" Is it some kind of a parody?

Bunch Son

Chosen answer: No, it is merely a joke about the size of Mantis and his surprising fighting prowess. "Fear the..." is a somewhat common joke. For example, the University of Maryland uses the unofficial slogan "Fear the turtle!"; the Milwaukee Bucks use the slogan "Fear the deer", etc.

Kung Fu Panda 2 (2011)

Question: How could Shen know that Po would be the baby panda from the village attacked by Shen's army?

Bunch Son

Answer: Since Po's father was presumably the only panda to attack Shen's wolves head-on, there's a chance Shen could have seen him. Plus in the flashback, Shen orders his wolves to attack Po and his mother before Po's father defends them both with his mallet.

Answer: More than likely she wasn't in the tower when it was destroyed. She directly confronts Shen about destroying the tower and makes no mention of having survived it's collapse. She only comments on his recklessness in destroying his ancestral home.

Kung Fu Panda (2008)

Question: At the beginning in the training scene, Shifu was disappointed, pointing out the problems in each of the Five's attack strategy. He said to Crane "height." What did he mean?

Bunch Son

Answer: He meant that Crane had to be higher in the sky so that Shifu wouldn't notice him when coming in for an attack.
