Trivia: All rats used in this movie where imported from Hungary and were originally white. Only black rats can pass the plague, so all rats where painted black or grey right before the film shots. (01:33:35)

Factual error: On the left-hand side of Lucy's front door, you can see a blue and white shield. This is the trademark of the Dutch Heritage organisation, which protects monuments such as old city buildings. These signs did not exist in the 19th Century. (00:48:00)

Factual error: The carriage brought back the ill Jonathan to Lucy's home in Wisper. But in the road before her door, you can see a modern manhole cover. The film is set in the 19th Century. At that time there was no sewer. (01:13:15)

Factual error: When the ship comes into the harbour of Wismar, you can see the text "Vrijmoed Wittkampf" right above the doors of the warehouses across the harbour. These names are old distillers of the city of Schiedam, proof that the shots are taken in Holland and not in Wismar. (01:06:00)

Revealing mistake: Kristatos wants to run over Bond and Melina by boat, after he took the Atac. Bond and the girl swim to the sea floor, waiting till Kristatos is gone. You can see the (shadow of) the anchor hanging on the left side of the ship. But in the previous scene, you will notice the anchor is in the middle, on deck! And second: these kind of (speed)boats do not have an anchor attached below the water line, because it will reduce the speed. Conclusion: the underwater scene is fake.

Continuity mistake: In the opening, Bond finds the button to let open the secret hatch in the oil tank. This hatch looks very heavy and is driven by a motor or something; you can hear the humming sound of it as well. When Bond is inside, now he can close it by hand. Also when he leaves the oil tank, he uses the same hatch, and can now open and close the hatch again with his hands.

Other mistake: Pussy Galore's flying circus is approaching Fort Knox flying in a V-shaped formation. Pussy is counting down from 5 to 0 before they release the nerve gas. On each count, we see another female pilot in a different plane but we also see another plane through the right side window. If you fly with 5 planes in such formation, only 3 planes can have another plane at their right side, not 4 or 5.

Revealing mistake: When Bond and XXX are visiting Stromberg's home by speed boat it shifts or rocks in the water when they step on board. This is normal, because speed boats are very unstable. When they reach Stromberg, they have to step off, but the boat does not shift in the water as it should, in fact, the way the boat slowed and stopped was stiff and unnatural. Obviously indicating the boat was on a trailer for these scenes.

Continuity mistake: A sailor on one of the submarines took the paper for the incoming telex with the new coordinates for the missile: code 0292765491. Then he reads the coordinates from this paper, but said something completely different: code 034285219.

Character mistake: At the boat where Bond talks with Colombo for the first time, Colombo has to convince Bond that Kristatos is the bad guy. Colombo takes two drinks and wants to toast with Bond. Bond will trust Colombo and says, 'Yassou' which means 'Hello' instead of what he should say, 'Jamas' which means 'Cheers'.

Continuity mistake: Because Ms. Moneypenny knows that Bond is having a meeting with M, she opens a drawer to use the mirror. She just wants to start putting on makeup, and Bond is entering her office. In the next shot, her lips are fully red.

Revealing mistake: When Bond and Melina are being chased in Melina's car, they are rolling upside down in a street of a small village. With help of some other people they tilt back the car on his wheels. At that moment you can see specially added roll bars mounted in the car to prevent the roof from crushing.

Audio problem: In the sniper scene, Bond asks Saunders to switch off the lights. Then Bond closes his jacket using velcro. The sound the you hear is not right. This is the sound that you will hear if you pull off velcro, not attach it.
