This movie is just awful. It tries to mess around with the animated one, but isn't anywhere near as good on any level. The cinematography is lousy, the effects bad, the singing painful, the acting bland, the writing makes everyone look like pricks, and the overall narrative plays like something where studio executives wanted to address nitpicks fanboys have made over the years on Tumblr by throwing in some weak explanations for problems that don't matter. It is just lazy, cynical, pandering crap that wants to achieve nothing besides rake in some nostalgia dollars, and we as a species should be ashamed of ourselves that we let this atrocity make this much money.
