Continuity mistake: When the angry mob is outside the Simpsons' home, Lisa sees Colin in the crowd. Carl is next to him, with his torch in his left hand. In the next shot, when Carl sets fire to a bouquet Colin brought for Lisa, Carl's torch is now in his right hand. (00:33:55)

Continuity mistake: In the scene in which the POWs are distributing the tunnel dirt over the compound, Hendley is leading a group of POWs in a soldier's march. In one shot, dirt is coming out from the bags inside their trousers, but their hands are visibly swinging back and forth; they can't be pulling the strings in their pockets to release the dirt. Continuity mistake: On page 186 of the American hardcover, about a quarter of the way down the page, a paragraph begins "Malfoy looked rather as he had done the time Hermione had punched him in the face." However, Hermione never punched Malfoy in the books, she slapped him in Book 3. She only punched him in the third movie.

Continuity mistake: In the original theatrical version, Graham shoots six rounds at Dollarhyde from a gun that holds five rounds. [In the Director's Cut, one of the shots has been edited out. However, this is still valid for other prints of the film.]
