Continuity mistake: When Dorothy wakes up in Kansas, Prof. Marvel sneaks up in the window behind. Dorothy's pigtails change positions between shots.

Revealing mistake: When Dorothy bumps into the Tin Man, she knocks on his foot, which sounds metallic. However, her fist sinks, revealing it is made of a soft material.

Continuity mistake: After the Tin man opens the door with his axe chopping its wood, Dorothy steps out and the door is totally fixed.

Continuity mistake: When Dorothy grabs the oil can next to the tin man, the leaves he holds in his left hand change positions between shots. A leaf on the log also appears/ disappears randomly between shots.

Deliberate mistake: Before Dorothy is sent to Kansas there's a close-up of her shoes. All of the group's feet, Glinda's dress, and the rest of the elements around are gone and replaced by a black background. Despite being a deliberate directorial decision to give the shoes a more dramatic focus, it is really awkward to see everything disappear, nevertheless.

Continuity mistake: When Dorothy asks the Wizard to take her back home, in every close-up of her the Scarecrow disappears from behind, only to reappear in the rest of the shots.

Continuity mistake: When Glinda tells Dorothy to follow the yellow brick road, there are many Munchkins around. A second later, when she is about to vanish, they've all disappeared.

Continuity mistake: When Glinda starts to sing, a Munchkin is seen coming out of an open sewer with its lid on the side. When the angle changes, the munchkin is nowhere to be seen and the sewer is closed.

Continuity mistake: When the Wicked Witch of the West asks Dorothy who killed her sister, Dorothy has Glinda's wand across her chest. A shot later Glinda is holding it straight up, away from her.

Continuity mistake: In Munchkinland, when the Wicked Witch of the West tries to grab the ruby slippers, the curtain hanging out of the window changes positions between shots.

Continuity mistake: When the Wizard is in the balloon, he raises his top hat pointing in an 11 o'clock direction. A frame later it's pointing in a 9 o'clock direction.

Continuity mistake: When the cyclone begins, two farmers run to protect the horses. One goes inside the stable and the other runs away. Half a second later he is standing next to the stable's door.

Continuity mistake: In Munchkinland, when Dorothy walks the road and everyone sings "Follow the yellow brick, follow the yellow brick road," the angle cuts and a group of Munchkins have suddenly appeared in the center of the previously empty road. Dorothy was standing on the farthest point, so they had half a second to walk 10 meters, which is impossible.

Continuity mistake: In the poppy field, when Dorothy points at the Emerald City, the Lion is standing more than a meter away from her. In the close-up he stands very close to her.
