Continuity mistake: When the foreman first slaps Simon on the back, the muddy handprint has quite identifiable finger marks, but in the next shot, when Simon is walking away, the muddy shape has changed. In a subsequent shot, the mudprint has disappeared entirely. (00:04:25 - 00:06:00)

Revealing mistake: Towards the end of the film, when the narrator and Tyler are fighting in the basement, Tyler slams the narrator's head into the wall by the van. For a split second, before the shot changes, the 'concrete' wall visibly buckles inwards. (02:03:35)

Audio problem: Throughout the final sequence, when Harry and Nora are in the jeep and being chased by the police cars onto the field by the gym, many of the words Harry says are out of sync with his mouth.

Continuity mistake: When Paige is shown brushing her hair in front of the mirror, there is no background shown in the mirror behind her; it's completely black. We see this a few times while she's sitting at the dressing table, but then when she gets up to gather her things and take them to the kitchen, we see the room reflected normally. Continuity mistake: When Mazzilli is talking to the reporter in front of the school, he lights smoking firecrackers and throws them behind him. When we see him light the first one, it is at least three or four inches long when we see it in his hand, but much shorter an instant later when it hits the ground. This happens again with the next one too, but this time it's shorter when we first see it and slightly longer when it hits the ground. (00:54:25)

Continuity mistake: Towards the beginning of the film, when Lincoln and Jordan first escape, we see them running and hiding in the room full of new 'products'. Water is constantly falling from the ceiling like rain, and both of them are soaked, to the point of water running from their hair and clothing in streams. In the next shot, however, when they have just left the room, they are little more than damp.

Continuity mistake: During the car chase on the freeway, Jane forces one of the pursuing cars off the road by driving, with it, through those large barrels of water near freeway exits. Water cascades over the cars; one interior shot shows that it's virtually impossible to see through the windscreen. Yet in the next shot, a few seconds later, all the cars are completely dry.

Continuity mistake: After the botched hit in Mexico, Jane returns to her office, a little beaten up, and her associates tend to her wounds. Particularly clear is an injury to her right shoulder - it has bled enough to mark her singlet top, and is covered by a large piece of plaster. Yet when she dances with John in the restaurant, only a few hours later, there is no sign of plaster or wound.

Revealing mistake: When Catherine comes out of the shower and walks over to Albert, who is lying on the bed, it is clear as she leans forward that her towel is not only tucked in at the top but also pinned, about halfway down.

Continuity mistake: Leonard is twice shown looking at the back of the Ferdy's Bar coaster, with 'Come by after, Natalie' written on the back. The handwriting is noticeably different in the two shots, particularly the first two letters of 'after' and the middle 'a' in 'Natalie'. (01:20:15 - 01:28:55)

Factual error: When Conan cuts off Thulsa Doom's head, and throws it over the parapet, it hits the stairs below and rolls a little way down. Not only are there absolutely no marks left on the stairs (there should at least be a small amount of blood), it sounds like something plastic is rolling down there.

Other mistake: In the original cinema release, one of the subtitles for Jabba's conversation is incorrectly spelled - 'there will be no bargin'. This was corrected for the video release.

Continuity mistake: As John Goodman is breaking the branch from the tree during the picnic scene, the branch is quite sharply pointed on both ends. In the scene immediately following, when he starts to beat the men with it, it's blunt at both ends, and a slightly different shape. (00:53:00)

Trivia: There's a part in the book, 'The Fellowship of the Ring', just after Frodo has been grabbed by the Watcher in the water outside the gates of Moria. Gandalf thinks, but does not say, that 'whatever it was that dwelt in the lake, it had seized on Frodo first among all the Company' ie. the implication being that the ring draws attack and evil from all around. This happens in the film too - the first Ringwraith is able to separate Frodo from the other three hobbits, when they're running for the Bucklebury Ferry, the Watcher grabs him, as in the book, and even the Cave Troll singles him out.

Continuity mistake: At the end of the Amon Hen battle scene, where Boromir has been shot by Lurtz, there is a close-up of Lurtz's feet (as if from Boromir's POV) showing Lurtz striding over and stopping in front of him. The ground is clear all around his feet. The shot then changes to a wide shot, from the side, and there are orc corpses piled up all around. None of these were visible before, but should have been. Continuity mistake: When the members of the Fellowship are running away from the Balrog, they get caught on the steep narrow stairs and have to jump across the gap. When only Frodo and Aragorn are left on the upper side, there is a long shot from the top, showing large rocks crashing down in the foreground and the two of them further away. Both of them jolt forward, as if with the impact, before the rock has hit the top of the staircase. (00:37:12)
