Continuity mistake: When Adam blows out the candles on his 8th birthday, you see smoke rising from the just blown candles, in the next shot no smoke is apparent, as if the candles were blown out a long time ago.

Revealing mistake: When Harry and Jack arrive at the building at the start in the police car, you can see the tire skidmarks on the road from previous takes. (00:05:05)

Continuity mistake: When Jim and the other two characters are making their way to Jim's parents house, they are seen on the Docklands Light Railway track going towards a place called Island Gardens. The next shot shows them at a station called East India which is completely the other direction to where they were going down the track. Obviously, only users of the railway would pick up on such error though.

Trivia: In the opening sequence, with the speedboat jetting through the boathouse and over the road, was filmed in Wapping, East London. It took a week to film that one sequence, as I saw them doing it. Also, for the matter of continuity, when the boat goes across the road, it goes into some sort of alley with an arch above it. In reality, it's actually a Group 4 building on the other side of that road.

Continuity mistake: At the beginning when Ethan is getting briefed of his mission with the sunglasses, his point of view shot through the glasses shows the landscape moving across from right to left, yet on the shots looking at him he isn't turning around or moving his head at all.
