Continuity mistake: At the dinner scene at Bilbo's house, just before Bofur throws the egg at Bombur's mouth, Fili is seen sitting next to Bombur. Yet as Bombur catches the egg, Ori is now sitting where Fili was sitting.
The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey (2012)
Directed by: Peter Jackson
Starring: Ian McKellen, Martin Freeman, Andy Serkis, Richard Armitage
Continuity mistake: In the scene where Bilbo, now invisible, sees Gandalf and the dwarfs run past the cave and he can't join them because Gollum blocks the way. When Bilbo finally runs past Gollum and kicks him in the face and knocks him down, the very next shot shows Gollum's body lying in the opposite direction, away from the direction Bilbo kicked him. (02:19:35)
Continuity mistake: Just after Radagast has a flashback of him seeing the Necromancer, some of the white stuff on his beard disappears briefly in the shot where he inhales the stuff in Gandalf's pipe. (01:15:20)
Trivia: "Bombur" doesn't have a single line of dialogue in the movie.
Bilbo: Oh, up to but not exceeding one fourteenth total profit if any. Seems fair. Present company shall not be liable for injuries including but not limited to laceration, evisceration... Incineration?
Bofur: Oh, aye. He'll melt the flesh off your bones in the blink of an eye.
Balin: You all right, laddie?
Bilbo: Yeah, I'll be. Feel a bit faint.
Bofur: Think furnace, with wings.
Bilbo: Yeah, I-I-I need air.
Bofur: Flash of light, searing pain, then poof, you're nothing more than a pile of ash.
Bilbo: [Long pause.] No. [Bilbo faints.].
Question: Was any reason ever given as to why Gandalf chose Bilbo to go on this journey and not someone else?
Answer: In the film, Gandalf tells the dwarves he chose Bilbo because hobbits are light on their feet, and because Smaug would not recognise the scent of a hobbit as he would a dwarf. Also Bilbo is the most adventurous of the hobbits in the Shire. This reason is not in the book but is from the story "The Quest of Erebor" in Tolkien's Unfinished Tales.

Answer: Hobbiton is the village where Bilbo was born. Overhill is on the northern edge of Hobbiton and Underhill is at the bottom of said hill. Built into the hill itself is Bag End, the Baggins estate. The Shire is the name of the Hobbit lands overall. So, he's from the village of Hobbiton in The Shire, and his home is Bag End, which is in the midst of the hill that forms both Overhill and Underhill.
